I've never been a fan of social media, but my gamer buddies had wanted me to make a FB account about a decade ago to keep in touch with them. I've been seriously considering leaving because I'm completely against the censorship of any speech, but I was hanging on in the hopes that they came to their senses... I suppose I'll join the crowd and let them know I disapprove the only way I can.
FB has loads of conservative groups and conservative posters. The narrative you're referring to is just standard victim incentivization. Like the imaginary 'war on Christmas'. Just something to get you riled up and visit more conservative websites that will feed you more of that narrative.
Which increases their advertising revenue. The outlets feeding you this narrative have monetizing the very outrage they've manufactured.
Facebook is a business. Its incentivization is the monetary. And banning conservatives because they're conservative would cost them money. Which is why the narrative makes no sense.
And of course, isn't supported by evidence.
What "outlets"? I hate the MSM and you have zero clue what I'm watching nor what they say about censorship by social media. You don't even know that I was talking about fucking conservatives being censored either, do you?
Turns out you're the one running off assumption's here kid.
FB went groveling to the government and said they'd start censoring shit, I disagree with that policy for any reason, exactly as I said. FB has made their financial bed, now they're going to lay in it without me.
Fox for example. They push Trump's narrative that FB is silencing 'millions' of conservative voices just like they pushed the imaginary 'war on christmas'. They get you riled up on premise that you're a victim of.....whoever is being accused that week.
Liberals. Google. Mexicans. The Elites. Antifa. Whatever.
Then they feed you more content to reaffirm your victim status. And earn bank in the process by selling access to you to advertisers. They manufacture outrage then profit by feeding you more of the same.
The 'censorship' claim is wildly exaggerated. Alex Jones and a handful of conservative groups got banned. TTens of millions of conservative posters still post what they'd like. Liberal groups have been banned. Gamer groups of been banned. But anecdotal examples of conservatives makes you feel like a victim. So that's what they'll sell you.
Trump claims 'millions' are being silenced. Trump claims that Google 'rigged' search results. But he has nothing to back that up. Nor does he need evidence....if its currency is *emotion*. If he can make you *feel* like you're a victim, then you'll support his agenda.
Making people feel like victims of the villain of the week is what Trump and republicans sell.
Hey thanks for the further proof that you, not only, just make assumptions, but you don't read either.
I don't watch Fox. Nor Alex Jones.
And if you were the only market for manufactured outrage or conspiracy, then you might have a point.
I'm speaking more generally. You are being fed manufactured outrage. Outrage porn, essentially.....based on no evidence or at best, anecdotal evidence.
And the purpose of that manufactured outrage.....is to drive advertising revenue by feeding you reinforcement of the very outrage that they've manufactured.
Whether you personally watch fox or Infowars......the tactic works without you.
My patience with your bullshit wears thin. Again dipshit, I am not being /fed/ anything. I watched the "silencer in chief" speak to Congress.
