President Trump: Making America Normal Again

I have allowed my instincts to inform me of the wisdom of each appointment as Trump has made them. Some I have felt really excited about. Some I had to think about. Pete Hegseth for DOD chief for instance I didn't even have a clue was coming, but after thinking about it and checking his credentials, I feel pretty good about it. Tulsi Gabbard as DNI I also feel good about. (I am glad she isn't in a department in which her more leftist views could be counter productive to the MAGA agenda.) And others also feel right for their proposed jobs.

I was a bit surprised that Marco Rubio got the nod for State but I certainly don't dislike him and trust Trump's judgment on that one. And there is no chance DeSantis won't appoint another really good guy or gal to finish out Rubio's term in the Senate.

The only one my initial reaction was 'oh no' was Matt Gaetz for A.G. I have been waiting for that initial reaction to temper itself and feel more acceptance but in all honesty it has not yet happened. I don't really dislike him personally but not actually fond of him either. And what I have observed from time to time is that I disagree with his perspective and judgment at times.

And this morning I am seeing a number of prominent Republicans in the Senate who also are not happy with that appointment. It may be the one appointment they'll refuse to confirm.

So help me out here ya'll. What am I missing? Good appointment? Bad appointment? Does anyone else see those little red flags of caution here?

(Again DeSantis will almost certainly appoint a good person to replace him.)

The majority of Americans who voted for President Trump did so because of the MAGA vision of a strong, secure, free America that offers maximum liberty, options, choices, opportunity and prosperity for all.

That is what is normal America to those people.

So far the cabinet President Trump is putting together are all committed to that vision, but wow, they sure are causing a lot of heads to explode. Nevertheless Trump is moving forward to make the MAGA vision a reality and is putting together the most unusual, interesting, unexpected and unlikely team in American history to accomplish it.

I am a bit curious if the most hard core left aren't at least a little bit curious and interested in how this will all work out. I sure am.

What does a normal America look like to you? Is the Biden Administration agenda and results what you think should be normal? Or are you willing to give the MAGA team the majority of voters voted for a chance?

Setting aside the talking points, partisan rhetoric and propaganda, aren't you a little hopeful that the MAGA agenda, the MAGA team heading government, the resolve to make America great again, will yield good things? Or are you hoping it fails?
I'm uncurious and unserious about disaster administration 2.0.

And yet here you are posting on this thread. How disinterested could you be? :)

I think most of us are interested in the vision, the proposed policies, the cabinet picks, the debates about it all regardless of which side of the political spectrum you come down on.

This morning I listened to Greg Abbott explain that he has offered the Administration over 1000 acres of Texas land to use as the staging area for the deportation of migrants. How all that might work is fascinating to me.

One thing I have observed is the Trump dance being used to celebrate in sporting events--boxing, NFL, soccer, etc. And so far nobody has moved to ban that anywhere. I love it. And see it is a very positive and fun thing as well as affirming the positive hope and change concepts that undergird the MAGA vision.

Not to me. Nothing is fascinating about it.

Freedom is also the freedom to say that two plus two make five which could be true if the metrics are designed that way or could be wrong.

Freedom is the right to try something whether or not it is conventional wisdom.

Freedom is the right to do things differently, to do them better, to think outside the box to get something accomplished.

Freedom is rejecting what has not worked or is broken or wrong and doing something differently to get better results.

That's what we're getting with a new Trump Administration. There will be mistakes and some things may not work. But for sure it is highly HIGHLY unlikely to do worse that the current Administration.

The government will spend about $7 trillion this year and I bet very few if ANY of us have seen one single thing the government accomplished with all that money that has improved our lives or provided more long term opportunity for any Americans. The Musk/Ramaswamy team will be tasked to let we the people know how much our resources are being wasted so that Congress and the Administration can stop it.
1 trillion will be on debt interest alone.

It's disgusting.

They should throw Biden and Harris both into the Potomac on a cold day.

America has been a social experiment whereby whites have been socially engineered to succeed. Once you understand his, you will see the foolishness in your argument.
Yes, socially white people explored the world and collected all the information we could. You are right, we engineered success. We wrote books, not just of what we knew but books about what we discovered.

White people made universities, everywhere, we engineered all of this. White people conducted research. White people even engineered great universities and hospitals in Africa.

How did African society engineer their success?

Not all their fault though. They wouldn't have had the money to spend if Congress had not authorized it. The GOP will have a very think majority in both the House and Senate but that should help start changing the culture back to government serving the people instead of the other way around. The Democrats will retain enough power to make it a lot harder to do that but we will have an Administration committed to doing that.

Hopefully, these newly elected democrats will see the light of day and not vote totally lock step and put the welfare of the country before party.

All who'se fault ? Biden/Harris ?

I am not holding my breath about a GOP majority.

We gave Bush four years and he lit the debt fuse with all kinds of help from Congress.

Biden had massive deficits. In a "booming" economy (booming is more like it exploded which inflation certainly did).

I'll will be watching and complaining loudly if Trump and Co. don't go after that debt.
