Question for the supporters of laissiez faire gun sales

Are ad hominems a legitimate form of rebuttal, and do they help support your cause?

and all manner of gun controls?

Do the attacks which began in earnest yesterday, and continue today, on the teenagers who marched in The District and in cities around our nation Saturday, help your cause or harm it?

Attacking 17 year old marchers for their sexual orientation, looks or color is a theme which infects many of the threads on this topic

Obviously I voted No. Those who continue to echo "shall not be infringed" fail to understand that their are limits now, on what arms and what persons can own, possess or ever legally have a gun in their custody and control.

Where, in the words, “…the right of the people…shall not be infringed.”, do you find the authority for any part of government to infringe that right?

Ahhhhthe old straw man arguments, when you can’t debate the issues call ‘em bigots and make up extreme examples.

The irony seems to be lost on Wry Catcher, who, having started this thread to accuse us of depending on ad hominem attacks, has so quickly found himself left with nothing to say but to make ad hominem attacks.

I had thought that TheRegressivePervert was the untouchable champion on this forum at starting threads that quickly turn against him, but it seems that Wry Catcher has just proven himself to be a very plausible challenger for this distinction.

The OP is a false statement on its face. I cannot go into a gun store and walk out with a gun today. It is not like buying a t shirt at Walmart.

Wait a minute…

You don't mean to suggest that the OP might be anything less than perfectly truthful, do you?

Isn't that an ad-hominem, attacking someone for his lack of honesty?

Probably my fault, yes the OP author is a liar of the highest order.

I haven't bought a gun in over two years, but as a matter of fact, here in Oregon it takes less than an hour to walk out with a gun.

No it is not as easy as buying a T shirt, and it should not be. However it is easy to buy a gun without any background check from another person, or in the parking lot of a gun show, or by a straw buyer.

So your post reflects your ignorance, and/or that you are a damn liar.

I'm sure you are aware that, at the very least, no person is allowed to sell their firearm to another if the other isn't allowed to possess the firearm, aren't you?

Private Gun Sale Laws by State - FindLaw

And I'm sure that happens everyday, and you know that too.

If every gun were registered, that issue could be resolved. Not in the sense it will prevent all gun sales to those who are not vetted, but to link the sale to the registered owner, and punish them. Of course that too won't prevent gun violence, but it sure would limit the number of those intent on criminal activity to obtain a gun.

But I believe each state should be allowed the right to require licensing of all gun owners, and the registration of all guns within their borders.

If it won't help anything, why propose it?

Oh right you are a cuck lying gun grabbing twat who won't admit to lying about editing a post then bitching about someone clipping it.

FOAD.

The question really isn’t fair to conservatives, since all they can respond with is personal attacks.

And drive by blanket accusations like this are far worse because they show you don't even have the balls to go after an individual, you gutless hack.

Are the marchers attacking others.....who had nothing to do with what happened in her school? Themarchers knew the shooter was marginalized, did they do anything to help him?....We know they didn't because they admitted it
Where is this verb "attack" coming from today? Was Rush on the radio this a.m. or something?
Anyway, back to the POINT, which is you are at it again. They did nothing to help the shooter, who was a social outcast (it seems a lot of people tried to help, which is being roundly criticized in other threads). So they deserved to die?

The guy wasn't a social outcast, he was a violent, mentally ill nut job...and because of obama's Promise Program, the police and the school refused to have the kid arrested....which allowed him to have a clean arrest record when he submitted his background check for the gun purchase....obama has blood on his hands...not the NRA or law abiding gun owners..

When there is a tragic loss of life like this, everyone jumps to blame someone. You blame Obama for trying to give kids a chance (within a structured framework) to turn things around before their lives are ruined with an arrest record. Did Parkland administrators take it too far? Probably. They wanted the school to look as perfect as possible, since the School Board takes heads when there is a lot of thuggery in their schools. Imagine any thuggery in the most perfect 'burb in the State of Florida. So it's better to cover it up. That wasn't right, but it wasn't Obama's fault. The Promise Program has a reason and it probably has done some good in a lot of places.

And yet you guys did not hesitate to blame the NRA, Marco Rubio, Dana Loesch and gun owners......none of these people are even close to having any blame compared to the Promise Program, the local cops and the FBI.....

So sell that crap somewhere else....
