Why do the GOP speakers pretend they don't know they aren't going to be able to pass anything meaningful until at least 2017? We are all aware (well everyone except hardline voters who apparently believe everything their politicians tell them and don't understand basic high-school civics) that the GOP doesn't have the votes to overcome a Senate filibuster let alone a Obama Veto. We fully realize that any attempts to pass partisan legislation (which most items on his "wish" list undeniably are) are for show and doomed to failure. The only reason Boehner was able to pass a budget is because the GOP wanted to be able to blame it on Boehner who was leaving when their voters got angry. You guys arent fooling anyone. So forget about partisan sideshows until you have the power to actually achieve it and do something productive with all that taxpayer money you get paid.

we already have 1000's of laws and regulations STRANGLING us, businesses, the economy, OUR Rights, etc

Maybe they can pass what size soda cups we can drink from, what kind of light bulbs we should use, what toilets we peasants can have, etc

Democrats are like Hillary, who think that Republicans are their worst enemies.

So, Democrats should be treated like Russian spies. Anyone who has any association with Democrats should be kicked out of the GOP. Anyone who has a habit of golfing with them, or having coffee with them, should be watched.

Democrats are spies in our midst. They cannot be trusted to do what is good for the country because they are always thinking party first.

What are Democrat policies designed to do?

Create Democrat voters.

They can't do it with their ideas. Their ideas are designed to punish one group in favor of another group. Usually a smaller group is favored over the majority. And when you do that you assure that you'll lose elections. So what do they do? They try to either change the group you belong to, or they just bring in more of the smaller group to decrease your majority. Thus explains why Democrats are begging for Syrian, Guatemalan, El Salvadorian, and Asian refugees in their states. They're monkeying with the demographics in their states and districts. They think they can get some of these new people registered. At the very least, they can pack their states with foreigners and tilt the electoral college in their favor down the road.

The Democratic Party is corrupt and is undermining this country's sovereignty.

Really Wish the GOP would stop Pretending they can pass anything meaningful....
IMHO the only thing really "meaningful" that could come out of Washington would be the repeal of some (or all) of the umpteen laws that violate the Constitution and the liberty of the American People, so I guess the GOP *might* be able to offer up the next best thing, NO new laws or even better shut the damn thing down until we can find some people with enough common sense and integrity to remake the corrupt, self serving system in Washington into something resembling a servant of the people.

Of course I have little faith in the GOP's ability to do even that much.

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' "interests," I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can." -- Barry Goldwater

thank you, I just shake my head

This has nothing to do with the GOP's ability to get things done because the president isn't about to do anything but raise taxes and increase spending.

He isn't going to do anything that is good for this country as a whole. He has groups that donated millions to the Democrat Party, and their wants and desires come first.

Uh-uh and instead of using their control of both houses of Congress to block President Blow Other People Money's desire to hasten along our national financial ruin the boys and girls in the GOP just went along with him on new spending and breaking even the meager caps imposed by "sequestration", as a group they're not even competent obstructionists let alone anything that resembles fiscally conservative.

what kind of light bulbs we should use,

that has already been done my dear lady, around 60 years ago the minority liberscum started their whine, e.g. no spanking children. we now have been overcome with liberscum who are bent on destroying our once great country. every time a liberfool whines about something a sympathetic Conservative gives in to these crybabies.., that is why we have qweers suing bakeries for not baking them a cake.

I know that. have you seen the price of a regular old light bulb lately?
I ran across this: so maybe they'll pass a law next on how we can't use Pumpkins for decoration because it hurts Mother earth. I sometimes wonder if these people are "real" Citizens of our country who post this kind of thread.

Progressives won’t be happy until they’ve sucked absolutely all the fun out of Halloween. The Department of Energy is now claiming Halloween pumpkins cause global warming.

Mediaite reported:

Department of Energy: Halloween Pumpkins Contribute to Global Warming

A Department on Energy blog post Tuesday warned consumers that the practice of buying pumpkins for Halloween could imperil the environment by contributing to global warming.

“With the passing of Halloween, millions of pounds of pumpkins have turned from seasonal decorations to trash destined for landfills, adding to more than 254 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) produced in the United States every year,” they write.

“At landfills, MSW decomposes and eventually turns into methane—a harmful greenhouse gas that plays a part in climate change, with more than 20 times the warming effect of carbon dioxide (CO2),” the DoE continues.

Aren’t progressives (in our Government passing out Meaningless regulations and laws on us) fun people?

Soooo the GOP won't even try because there's the possibility of a filibuster ?

What a crock of shit ! They had no problem VOTING like 40x to repeal obamacare when they didn't even have control of congress . Now they do have control and magically they give up the fight !?

Truth is the GOP likes hanging back and doing nothing so they can blame the prez if anything goes wrong .

Pretty much what the Democrats did under Bush when they gained control of congress, IMHO it's a sickening situation that the only thing either party can accomplish is making things worse on the bright side both parties have honed their expertise at rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

YAWN

is this one of those friendly fire posts? an other idiot who thinks spewing hartred at republicans is going to solve anything??

I think they're trying to remove being obstructionist from Democrat talking-points.

I don't think it'll work because the media still lies for Democrats.

The truth will be covered over.

The truth is, Obama is an obstructionist president. Nothing good gets done if he can help it.

How about all of you worried about them passing things just go out and make your own lives? then you won't have to worry about them sitting up there passing BS bills and laws on us because they have Nothing better to do.

I think is clear that the GOP are the obstructionists . They can't even get their own caucus under control, but it's the prez who won't play ball!?? Lol!

it's not Obama, it's the Prez.

and of course, how can anything in seven whole years of his Reign of terror over us be, the Prezs FAULT. We should all know by now, it's still Bush's and the Gops fault.

That is extremely illogical.

They are of singular mind to be all-in obstructing the president, and yet they can't seem to get a majority to do it. All of the Dems voted for that budget with 18 establishment Republicans riding coat-tails.

On the other hand the treat of a veto is enough to stop anything the Republicans do. He vetoed their first Defense budget a week or so ago because it had a rider in it defunding planned parenthood.

Obama has very low veto numbers . And so what? Every prez can veto . Make him do it , then he has to take the blame . Don't be such wusses .

Truth is today's GOP doesn't give a crap about the budget . Even in the debates they just talk about spending more and tax cuts .
