Who's coveting a WASP majority status? Seems that's your desire, for it to be a reality, rather than a regretful possibility. I don't give a darn. I just want our leaders to support national border security/integrity.

My middle son is married to a beautiful Japanese American girl...........Her grand parents went through a lot of hard times, as the grand mother was put in a camp in Utah during WW2, yet they are as patriotic to the U.S. if not more than many WASP's, or WASC's.

One of my college roomates for two years, dad fought with the famous Japanese American Army unit in Italy against the Nazis. The whole battalian was decorated for extreme bravery, yet most of those Japanese American soldiers had family in detention camps in Utah, California, etc...

Why didn't they become embittered with the U.S. and just raise the perverbial middle finger to this country and go back to Japan, or emmigrate to Canada etc.?

In fact many of the detained Japanese Americans were given that option, and the majority turned it down.

My roomate's dad and mother lost their very nice home in the S.F. Bay area during the war. Yet, if you said anything against this country in which he had immigrated to, he would probably give you a black eye or an earful.

They ended up with a 50 acre plot of soil in the central valley of California, raising peaches and almonds. This was bought with his saved army pay. They never regained their very expensive lost property from the U.S. government's confiscation. They weren't or refused reciprocation in anyway.

I came out and visited them once, and was treated with so much respect, friendliness, as a friend of their son. These people lived a humble, but hard working life. They didn't complain, but took life in stride.

They weren't whiners, and they obeyed the laws of this nation, even though if anyone had a right to hold a grudge or become anti-American, they would fill that category.

Why, Shogun? Why didn't they shake an angry fist at your WASPY America. Why did this Japanese American man leave his wife, and volunteer to fight for America? Volunteering didn't get any promised special treatment for his wife and relatives in the camps. Was he possibly a very thankful man that he lived here in the U.S. and allowed that positive to override the hurt and rejection of a frightened America at the time that couldn't differentiate the enemy in any way but by physical ethnic, racial means? I don't know. He definitely isn't a minority from that naturalized Japanese American culture. Maybe he was deluded, but I doubt it. I met the man, and he was as coherent and normal as anyone I've known.

My Swedish grandfather was an avowed Swedish socialist and had some of the most heated political arguments over the dinner table with my Dad who was a Roosevelt Democrat.

Yet, my Swedish grandfather was a man who when first immigrating here via Ellis Island N.Y.. Immediately got a job, and a few years later in California, ended up building a beautiful home in Daly City, California, near San Francisco. He worked in the Trolley Car barns in S.F. as a mechanic. He and my grandmother insisted that their three children, my mom being one of them, would not speak Swedish in their household. Their kids were going to speak english only. My grandma and grandpa self-learned english, and how to write it too, themselves. They were strongly religious in the sense that they believed in biblical values in their home and lives. They were strict, and didn't desire charity if at all possible. They paid back bills in timely fashion, and were careful with every expenditure they made.

What did the my mom's generation get from this? Total assimmilation into the American/U.S. culture! Because my grandparents insisted on their kids being Americanized at all cost and sacrifice. My Mom and her siblings reaped the benefits, and the advantages of this nations abundance of opportunities because their immigrant parents adopted this new country as their country, not Sweden.

Instead, now, much of the immigrants are forming micro communities that protect themselves from 100% assimmilation into the U.S. culture. To their detriment, they are hurting their progeny for the future. Apologists for these communities will continue with the never ending, ethnic discrimination clause, to the problem and thusly, keep or hinder the needed assimmilation.

American schools on the West Coast have to have special language classes in Spanish to educate these kids that aren't encouraged by their parents to assimmilate.
