Reid: We will force gun control vote

The "Watch List" needs to be fixed (or a total overhaul performed) before it should be used to deny someone's guaranteed Constitutional Rights.

NOW republicans have issues wh the watch list !?

Cons are cowards . They don't want a vote because the they would have to make an official stand .
The Socialist Democrats can have a new vote every day and they'll still be pissing into the wind.
Do you know what the procedure is to change or modify an amendment?

Personally, I've always had an issue with it, as I'm sure others have too.
The arbitrary way that a person can get added (sometimes wrongly) to it is the main thing. Add in the false positives, like similar names, and it only gets worse.

When a Republican president comes to grips with reality and makes membership in The Democrat Party sufficiently indicative of treasonous intent to automatically slap all such on a no-fly list.....THEN you'll hear a different song sung. A very high-pitched ditty. A delightfully, downright castrato ditty!

There should be a clear appeal process , definitely . But being in the watch list should put up some red flags when buying a gun.

Agreed on the appeals process - it's currently hard, perhaps TOO hard for most, to get taken off of the list.
Partial agreement on the red flags - only if being placed on the list wasn't arbitrary and due process was used to guarantee that the proper, deserving individual was the one placed on the list - not someone with the same name living 1,000 miles away in a retirement home.

It's a very simple fix. You can't be put on the watch list until you've been brought before a judge and have a chance to defend yourself against your accuser, in this case, the U.S. government. Why it hasn't always been this way is beyond me.

It would be unconstitutional, a waste of time and effort but it will give the lefties a warm and fuzzy

Here's the problem (at least as my feeble mind) sees it.

The FBI was very aware of this clown. VERY Aware. Yet, apparently, someone higher up (at DOJ) told them to close his file. Why? No idea, but the facts are the facts - his file was closed.

So, now he acts. And we MUST blame someone, right? So, as usual, rather than looking at the circumstances as to why this terrorists' file was closed, the left begins their crusade of knee jerk reactions - blaming the weapons.

Should we not be looking into the reasons for closing the case on a "HIGHLY SUSPECTED" individual?

I have a funny feeling about this one.....

The rule is that is NOT illegal when the government does it.

That is the single biggest threat facing the people of the United States - the government. They use "classified" labels to hide their behavior and any and everything they do not wish to divulge to us - their employers.

I have made it a point for the last 30 years to believe that ANYTHING that comes from the government is immediately suspect. Not because I "hate" government, but because the most dangerous commodity in the world is in play in Washington - MONEY.

We spent a bazzillion dollars to create homeland security so that different agencies would share info. But looks like nothing has changed . A guy interviewed multiple times by the FBI clears a background check wh no problem?

Fire all of them.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Democrats will "force a vote" soon on legislation to ban people on the terror watch list from purchasing guns and explosives.

Reid: We will force gun control vote

I guess Harry isn't aware that denying rights on the basis of secret lists without due process is unconstitutional.

Yeah, any list by the government is a non-starter for me because it become a political hit list and will be used the way Stalin and Hitler would use lists...

Also I find it funny that President Obama and Harry Reid want to pass something when the Senate is GOP and the House is GOP and yet the two worthless wankers did nothing when they had the House and Senate from 2009 to 2011...

Got love Politicians and their wedge issues in another election year...

That is precisely why I contend that something here stinks to high heaven. They open a file on this guy, interview him twice, apparently surveiled him for nearly a year then, suddenly, close the file on this guy.

However, just like the federal government, nothing they do makes a damned bit of sense.

Was it because his Father was (apparently) some Afghani big wig? Or was it because he was a member of a 5,000 member strong private corporate Army?

We'll never know because the government withholds information (or outright lies) to us - their employers.

Naw...they wouldn't do anything like putting conservatives on that list, would they? Remember, Barry told us that there wasn't "a smidgeon" of corruption at the IRS - that is until we found out that there was......
