I have seen footage of a similar-sized cat and colour hanging around in the state of NSW, and now this one. Unless it's the same cat, just walked 4000kms?

Thats a big cat alright but it sure isnt related to your average house cat thats gone feral.
It's more likely a pet that got loose and since there's a problem with cats and rabbits in Australia he's got plenty to eat.

There are panthers in SE Texas. I saw one 2 different times in the woods across the river from Beaumont.

Yep they're still there.
As are black bears but both are extremely rare.
