They say everyone starts out as a Democrat and they become a Republican or Libertarian when they grow up..
My late husband was a democrat way back in the 70's/80's, when he was teaching, and even so, he despised the teachers' unions. It took him until about 2006 to reach his full potential as a person and dump the dems, like rational adults do.
.
If they grow up.They say everyone starts out as a Democrat and they become a Republican or Libertarian when they grow up.
Hardly enough said.....you ran and hid.
You can't answer the question?
No mind at all?
Perhaps you would rather explain why you felt that America needed this:
Race and gender preferences
Language police
No punishment for criminals
Open borders
Attacks on the Supreme Court
Transgender sports competitions
Antisemitism
Wealth tax
Cancel culture
Welfare State
Government run healthcare mandates
Sanctuary Cities
Two-Tiered Justice system
Randi Weingarten is a lesbian......yet she thinks she owns everyone's kids.
Lol.
Very well said.
.
The Department of Energy was not created by Carter. The DOE was a creation by Jimmy Carter to get votes from the Teacher's Union. It is, and was not, ever needed.
Politics is involved in every aspect of American life.
1. The leaders of the teacher's union are nothing but inveterate Democrats. When the Democrat Party conspired to erase Trump's miraculous economy, and prevent him from running on it in 2020, Randi Weingarten and the union were right there demanding schools be closed so parents had to stay home with the kids. Never mind the kid's education.
2. AFT Head Weingarten Says Her Union Didn't Conspire ...
Education Week
https://www.edweek.org › policy-politics › 2023/04
Apr 26, 2023 — Assertions the union conspired with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to keep schools closed longer than necessary at the height of the pandemic ...
"...evidence the union purposefully sought to keep schools closed. The closures had devastating consequences for students’ academics and mental health, committee members said, citing national assessment data. They say the CDC circumvented normal procedures to allow the union’s review....union threatened “safety strikes” in 2020 and successfully lobbied the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to make it more difficult to reopen schools in person.
ibid.
3. It is known that children were the least likely demographic to be susceptible to Covid, and the obese and already sick were most likely. Both ignored by Democrat governors and mayors who destroyed the economy for the party.
And they got Biden/Harris.
4. "Randi Weingarten lies, lies and lies again about closing schools during COVID
...assessments show a 13-point drop in US math scores from 2018 to 2022, and the president of the second-largest teachers union is using it as another opportunity to gaslight the public about her role in COVID-era school closures."

Randi Weingarten lies, lies and lies again about closing schools during COVID
Randi Weingarten, American Federation of Teachers president, repeated the lie that teachers “unions worked hard to reopen US schools for safe in-person learning beginning back in April 2020.”nypost.com
Democrats lie about everything, and just like every other Bolshevik entity, care nothing for the people and lives they destroy.
5. Now here's the kicker: white males between 18 and 24 were almost 30% higher in voting Republican than comparible democraphics. The reason? During those school closures, they weren't exposed to government school indoctrination.
And Trump shuts down the Department of Education.
I wonder how Randi feels about that now????
In full disclosure, I'm probably one of the few who has spoken to Randi Weingarten.....and she called me. I don't believe we'll be speaking in the future.
Remember Hillary's demoting the importance of parents..."It takes a village..."
And the Democrat FBI investigating parents protesting at school board meeting as domestic terrorists?
LBJ paying for out of wedlock children.
It's all of a piece: government as daddy.
Yes, but this maxim is not just for educators anymore; it's for the population at large. This belief in the population might have begun with Leftist educators but a good number of parents have adopted it too. For example, many parents refuse to pick up sick or disruptive children from school: telling us, "they're your kids until 4:00".
Public schools MUST stand up to that. Your kids are NEVER, EVER "my kids". They are my students, and I care about them, but I'm not meant to parent them.
Many young children come to school with no home training at all. They cannot zip a jacket, sit at a table to eat, complete a direction with more than one step ("put your backpack in your locker, then pick up your folder on the way in").
.
I particularly hated that "It takes a village" bullshit, since my "liberal" friends thought it meant that I was obligated to watch their kids.

in lo·co pa·ren·tis
/in ˌlōkō pəˈren(t)əs/
adverb
(with reference to a teacher or other adult responsible for children) in the place of a parent.
"he was used to acting in loco parentis"
adjective
Used extensively vis-a-vis teachers during school time.
I don't believe we are disagreeing, but to be clear I think parents raise their children, not the state, and that is the Democrat/Bolshevik message....the children belong to the state.
What do you feel is your job as a teacher?
I'm not familiar with that.....we're a homeschool family.To teach what I'm hired/expected to teach.
Of course, if a child needs a shoe tied, some advice pertaining to school, I do that, no problem. Children often need the guidance and care of an adult.
I'm saying that schools will call parents because the child is ill or in crisis, and the parents say that schools are BEHOLDEN to care for their children no matter what and therefore they will not be interrupted to pick up their child.
I'm not familiar with that.....we're a homeschool family.
Sad. Really sad.Yes, I'm aware--and I'm in support of whatever parents choose for their children, short of neglect and abuse of course.
I have been teaching since 1993 and will retire at the end of next year.
I have never seen a generation of parents like these. "Gentle parenting" has given us students who are woefully unprepared for anything other than their immediate desire. Therefore parents find their children hard to deal with (and in some cases repulsive), and so expect the schools to fix everything.
In the last few years, at just my own little school, we have had two or three normally-developing children start kindergarten in pull ups. Parents just "didn't get around to it" because they didn't want to enforce any boundaries with their children.
If the kindergarten teacher is potty-training children, guess what she's not doing? Teaching children letters, early reading, early math.
It's a societal problem at this point. Tragically.
