Scott Brown: Biggest Upset In Political History?...

Libnow-- when people started to say that this was the most important election in the "last 50 years", well... it's like... watch Rachel and her familars try to "lance the boil" as one of them just said now-- this was at 11:28pm EST-- it's still ALL about the bad campaign that Marcia, oppps, sorry, Martha Coakley ran, yes?-- don't buy any of it-- it is all about President Obama and the Dem Congress and what they are trying to pull over on the American people-- Regards, probus

Nonsense. Anyone who denies Coakley ran a bad campaign is insane.

It was absolutely horrible. Doesn't take away from the fact that Brown was a good candidate as well.

Coakley did run a terrible campaign but Scott Brown really is a very skilled politician. He could be a great leader for the Republican Party. The way he handled himself in that debate convinced me that he does have some real talent. Coakley ran a terrible campaign but that's not the only reason she lost.

A Conservative Republican winning the most Liberal Democrat seat in Congress? I certainly never thought i would see that in my lifetime. In my opinion Scott Brown's victory is the biggest upset in political history. I would be interested in hearing what others think.

I think its one state. Mass wasn't representative of the country as a whole when the Dems held it. Its not now, either. I think the Dems blew its importance (regardless of HR, and don't count Mass out on that either, they may just hold Brown's feet to the fire to get that for them) out of proportion. Still, congratulations and enjoy your day, and it is just a day, people, not the next three years.

It was Coakley's campaign that was the problem. Just like it was Creigh Deeds campaign and Corzine's campaign, and Dorgan's campaign, and Dodd's campaign and Harry Reid's campaign and Blanche Lincoln's campaign. They just need to campaign a little better.

I still like Obama. I probably would have voted for Sam Brown if I lived in Mass.

Spin that.

When you take vacations while your opponent is shaking hands in 5 degree weather... you loose. And you deserve to.

Not saying that "anti-Obama sentiment" doesn't exist. It does. But it's less of a factor in Mass then it will be elsewhere.

To Sam Brown supporters... congradulations.
um, Scott Brown

Whoever

Jesse Ventura holds the title and probably will forever.

I don't know, Jesse was a Navy Seal and served in Vietnam. Al Franken's win was more of a upset I think.

:lol::lol: It's not an upset when you demand recount after recount until you get the result you want...oh yeah, and it doesn't hurt your cause to keep finding boxes of ballots that were in question from the beginning.

Yeah, you'd have that opinion if someone said Achmed Obama too huh?

The political upset reflects directly on Obama. He STILL hasn't figured out that Democrats didn't put him in the Oval Office: Independents did. It was the non-registered, non-affiliated voters who spelled the difference between Obama and McCain. Nothing reflects that more than Massachusetts. I used to think it was a Democrat state because I heard how registered Democrats outnumbered registered Republicans 3:1. Gives you the impression that Massachusetts makes Wisconsin look like a bunch of right wing survivalists. However, a significant majority, nearly 50%, of eligible voters in Massachusetts aren't affiliated with either party. Calling them Independents isn't even accurate. Point is that this IS the political base Obama needs to keep inside his camp.

Instead, he's done everything to piss them off, alienate them, even portray them as insignificant. The tea parties was not a Republican thing. There simply aren't enough registered Republicans to stage such an event. It was an Independents thing. These were the old people who complained about the direction the government was going with Obamacare, yet the White House and media portrayed them as disgruntled right wing fanatics.

Talk about backlash.

The trend began with New Jersey and now continues in Massachusetts. This is the crack in Obama's wall, and I'm willing to bet that his minions are going to describe this as a non-event. The president has no coat tails. The White House simply assumed Coakley was going to win, such is their arrogance. They didn't bother boosting her campaign until it was too late. And Coakley also helped her own defeat by running an attack campaign and downplaying the healthcare debate.

The telling event will be if Brown is indeed the 41st vote. Obama has put so much energy and effort into Obamacare that when it does not pass, he will have lost whatever is left of his political credibility.

In other circles, we call this fucking up a wet dream.

And in addition.... Obama has BADLY misread his supposed "mandate". He seems to believe that those Independents put him in the White House to bring about socialist "change". But that wasn't what he ran on. He ran on cleaning up Washington. He was going to be the post-partisan, post-racial president. He was going to "stop the business as usual" cronyism, end the corruption.

THAT's why he got the Independent vote. And instead, he's doubled-down on EVERYTHING we hate about Washington politics. He's become a bigger-than-life caricature of the "tax-n-spend" Democrat. Worse, he's surrounded himself with the most moonbat crazy leftists in this country, and in doing so, identified himself as one of them.

This guy has trouble with his far-left base now... because he promised them crap he simply cannot Constitutionally deliver. So, he's fucked it up with every possible constituency at this point.

His only choice is to move to the center, and distance himself from the leftwing nutcases. He plans to "pivot to jobs". Well, how the fuck is he going to do that now? He's already allowed Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to spend more money than we had, cleaning out their bottom desk drawers and fulfilling their own liberal wishlists.

Pelosi and Reid have damaged him more than any Republican ever could. Between insane legislation, reckless spending, and the moonbat Czars and cabinet... the only assumption average citizens can make is that he stands FIRMLY with the Loony Left. If that's not true, he better come forward and make the distinction while he's still got time to to it.

His best bet is to look for ways to improve private employment and to allow Republicans to bring their healthcare bill forward. If he continues to spend money and doesn't pass any meaningful legislation... he's cooked.

Most people never thought they would see the day when a Liberal Democrat didn't hold this seat. It really is an amazing achievement.

Deed's and Coakley's campaigns were to blame for their loses. Deed's actually tried to distance himself from Obama when he first started his campaign, and he slipped so far south he couldn't catch up.

Obama had absolutely nothing to do with the VA race. And he may have been a factor with Coakley but you'd be insane to look at ther campaign and say that wasn't a factor as well.

In NJ corruption was Corzine's problem, he was unpopular and a failed governor with or without Obama. Reid, Dodd, Lincoln have a problem called the populist "we hate the democrats now" attitude. It'll pass. Next cycle they'll be mad at the Republicans just like in 2006 and we'll back to playing this same old game... back and forth.

When people start learning their representatives records instead of just voting for the (R) or the (D)... they'll be no more need for these "populist uprisings". Until then angry soundbites and tea parties will do... I guess.

I don't know what the Hell people expected. He was the most liberal member of the Senate. He clearly ran on universal health care. I mean really... nothing's suprised me yet.

Well then he should fit in pretty nicely in this Dem-led worst U.S. Congress in History. I think he'll do fine. I mean can things really get any worse in this failed Congress? Go get em Mr. Brown. :)

Man, we'd be Tiger Woods rich if we bet against the Canuck's comments out here.

Geezus, dumb as a friggin rock. Holy crap. No one can be that friggin stupid.

I'm looking at the picture of his, and he's a got a little bit of ret tard in his family tree............
