SecDef Pete Hegseth

Just announced on laura ingrahams show...

Pete Hegseth (fox news) has been picked for secretary of defense.

Wow, this is out of left field. He is a former soldier so it makes sense.

It's interesting because I saw a clip earlier today of a woman in Trumps campaign orbit speaking to him during an interview on Fox and with a sly smile she said to him "you know that, you were in the military and were a great soldier", or something to that effect. He and she both smiled in a way that now makes sense, they were hiding a secret I presume.

I wonder if somehow Tulsi is shut out or since she is on the transition team she will have a role announced last.

Yup. I sure wasn't expecting it. Trump is definitely surrounding himself with competent but LOYAL people!

I love it!

Well I can't say, I don't know much of the guy outside of Fox. We have to trust and his teams judgement. He doesn't want career government officials, unless and only if, they are competent.

Besides his military career, he has an impressive education as well: undergrad at Princeton, and grad at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

" President Trump cited Hegseth’s stellar America First credentials and decorated service on as an army combat veteran.

He also cited Hegseth’s book “The War on Warriors,” which analyzed the left’s betrayal of those who have risked their lives to serve our nation."

He has absolutely no experience in such a top tier leadership spot, and such is absolutely certain to enrage the generals almost psychotic, which is I think exactly what Trump's looking to achieve with this nomination! Will he senate confirm Hegseth is another matter entirely, totally dependent upon who is voted leader!

If she's interested in a post somewhere, he will have one perfect for her. The country is going to get straightened out quickly in more ways than one.

The senate will convene on the first day & go into a 10 day recess at the end of day 1.

All Trumps appointments will be "recess appointments" bypassing the senate confirmation process. :laughing0301:  :yes_text12:

He will easily be confirmed 53-47. Stupid Democrats want the government to remain trans as well as the military. Not going to happen. We are going to have an actual military that is focused 100% on national defense. Not whether soldiers can cut off their manhood's by joining the military and get it all paid for.

You know, as we neared Election Day, I was focused on how brainwashed people were to think that an emoty vessel airhead like Harris with radical policies damaging to America was a better choice than Trump. And when he won, I was relieved that the country was saved from the anti-American Party - and thrilled that an effective, accomplished president was returning for a 2nd term.

But this keeps getting better and better, every day. I didn’t really concentrate on the fact that we would have an entire new cabinet, composed of patriots instead of the traitors we’ve suffered for four years.

And I LOVE that he is going to dismantle the DOE, and is adding in a Department of Government Efficiency. As a Washingtonian, I have seen for decades all these government workers puttimg in a couple of hours of real work, and then laughing about it! They were at the swimming pool, the movies, even the golf course, the grocery store, sitting out reading the newspaper in front of Starbucks, you name it.

And I love Elise Stefanik at the U.N. and Huckabee as the ambassador to Israel.

OK, I’m rambling. The point is I was focused on Trump, not thinking about the stellar team he would assemble.

I’m thrilled.
