On Friday, news broke that a settlement in principle was reached in the Ashli Babbitt wrongful death lawsuit brought against the US government by the Babbitt family.

This includes a failure “to meet or complete semiannual firearms qualification requirements,” leaving a “loaded Glock 22—the same firearm he used to shoot and kill Ashli Babbitt – in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center,” and a shooting into a moving vehicle stolen by teenagers, where the off-duty cop reportedly struck homes nearby with his bullets.

“Lt. Byrd had a reputation among peers for not being a good shot,” the lawsuit alleges.

We need to know who cleared him to fire... lets just be clear so we all understand... every agent and capitol hill cop is in constant communication with each other and the lead officer at all times... that's what those things in their ears are for... he did not do this without clearance to fire... who gave him that clearance?.... we may never know...
And if he fired without being cleared why does he still avoid prosecution?....

Babbit was a crazed insurrectionist. The officer was standing his ground. Any judgement should be paid by Trump, not us.
