I know I am going to get so hammered on this one from all sides but this is a question that I have wondered about since I joined.


USMB while many things is uniquely an intersection of the profane and the sublime, of opinion and innuendo, of sex and soliloquy. Lord knows I am not complaining and even find the eye candy to be a kind of shock absorber to some of the storm troopers, but I have to wonder if there is not a method to the presentations.


Do the female posters who use everything from artistic portraits to borderline soft porn gain an advantage in discussions because of their avatars(wonder how many lack of blood in the brain jokes this will birth)? Is this a planned strategy or a defensive one or no strategy at all? Is it effective? Does it wear off with time? Can men bring the beefcake to gain the same type of advantages?
