Sharon Stone came to Israel as part of the "Peres 90 birthday" visits, and came to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem to visit sick Israeli and Palestinian children.

Was supposed to stay no longer than an hour, but the visit took much longer due to the fact that she insisted on seeing each and every child in the AIDS department.

This the type of story I wish we could see more of.

The truth is that Israel is a country of great compassion and caring. There are countless examples of Israel and Israelis offering a hand of assistance to others - even those who regularly attack them with words and actions.

Unfortunately, these stories are routinely drowned out by those who wish to demonize Israel and Israelis.

Guess we'll have to shout even louder.

Indeed! they do a wonderful job!

When I was a child I had to be flown to the Hadassa for diagnosis and treatment. I remember looking at the rocky hills from behind my room window, and playing with Legos all day. But I mostly remember how the doctors gathered together a few times a day around various patients to discuss and strategize.

When I was younger I used to go over there myself more than once with a group of young girls to help out the staff and just be with the kids.

The Palestinian kids didn't mind one bit the fact that they didn't know any better nor understood half of our language. They understood someone can to visit them and be with them, and for them, it was all that matter.

With all of us were just kids.
