Looking back, during the gas shortage of 1973 I could have bought one in like new condition for $12,000 from an estate on the North shore of Long Island... DAMN!

Thats very nice!!!
I'd rather have a newer sports car that has all the tech that would blow that thing away.
If I was worth a shitload of money yeah I'd buy it as a show piece.

I have to laugh, the guy in the car is wearing a mask? Doesn't anyone know there is a vaccine out there? :21:

Yeah, but the speed limit is still around 55 on average. And that's on highways.

It's like 35 or 40 at best on other roads.

You rule breaker!

Most of our highways in Texas are 70-75 mph.
State Highway 130 has an 85 mph limit.
But to really have fun you'd have to take it to the track.

/——/ So could I, but $12k n 1973 is like $120,000 today, and who knew? Besides, in 1968 I could have bought a 1959 Porsche for $500 from my neighbor, but I didn’t have the money for that either

The moral of the story is, don’t beat yourself up, just laugh it off.
