Appears S.D attempted more of the Swedish model, with great success.

'South Dakota's economy, having never been shut down, has recovered nearly 80% of our job losses,' governor says

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem rejected the federal government's offer of an additional $300 in weekly unemployment benefits and touted her state's economic recovery amid the coronavirus pandemic.

My administration is very grateful for the additional flexibility that this effort would have provided, but South Dakota is in the fortunate position of not needing to accept it," Noem said in a statement on Friday. "South Dakota's economy, having never been shut down, has recovered nearly 80% of our job losses. South Dakota is the only state in the nation that didn't have extended benefits kick in because our insured unemployment rate has been the lowest in the nation."

Don't they process a lot of credit card transactions in South Dakota too? Since the Corona Panic started, a lot of vendors are skittish about taking cash payments and there are a few around here that insist on a credit card.

Naturally, South Dakota has a Republican governor and a Republican legislature.

Not only that , but no lockdowns, they are having the big biker event as we speak. And their COVID record is an outstanding one. A death rate of just 17/100,000, just 1/10 of the death rate for Fredo in New York.

And President Trump didn't have to send a hospital ship up the Missouri River for them either.

Damn liberals!

Californians said "can we have it?"

Ontario too. We're $360B in debt and Toronto is short $1.5B.

That's what y'all get for voting for left loons

By the way I've spent many vacations in Ontario, around Sioux Lookout. It's beautiful

We vote for Liberals and Conservatives. We have a Con in office now, he's been great at protecting those milking the system, not so great at protecting the taxpayer.

Has anybody blamed Trump yet?

Lol, there are more people in Wichita Kansas than the entire state of SD.

Speaking of the wonderful beautiful state of South Dakota, a punk protester in Sturgis kicked a bike yesterday and cops arrested him before he was beaten to a pulp. A few punks are angry that South Dakota was never shut down and neither was the bike rally in Sturgis.

So what? South Dakota has a low PER CAPITA number of deaths, not just a low total number (which you'd expect with their relative low population.)

LOL. Let's see. Only four states below it in terms of population (it's 46th) and a population that's spread out save for one city. So, color me unimpressed especially since we don't know if her 80% job recovery number includes Native American reservations.

South Dakota wasn't shut down. We were out there in June and Natives were working everywhere.

Population density is a pretty large prediction of how bad it's gonna be in any one area.

South Dakota Area and Population Density
The state is a vast area, covering 77,116 square miles, which makes it the 17th largest state in the country by area, but for each of those square miles, there is an average of just 10.7 people. It's the 46th most densely populated state in the US.
