Well, most journalist do have a degree. As compared to the eighth grade or less average among 'Conservatives'.
 
Journalists by definition are more closely connected to what's going on in the world.

One just has to remember that 90% of the things you read from the MSM are slanted Socialist, you can spend a lifetime fighting them, or simply realize what has happened!
