Test out the new USMB Skin - Feedback appreciated

I have had to read through the thread to see the changes, except one, the refresh option was something I always turned off. When that disappeared, I noticed that. The other changes are so slight I didn't notice until I read about them here.
Appreciate the admin's work. Thanks.

Be hard to go to the old style since it doesn't exist on the server. Post a link, I'll be happy to look.

Also, people can use things like MonkeyWrench and make the site look however they want on their side: Monkey Wrench - Chrome Web Store

Essentially, if you are willing to do some work you can make the site look however you want. It won't affect the site, but you'll have full control over everything from your end.
the thread is The web-sight sucks.

Thanks for the explanation. I am fine with the stock skin as shown in your link, though.

I've made it available here to use. You can change the skin/style to "Stock Xenforo" and use it. This link might allow you to change it as well: Style chooser

Note: We will not be changing/fixing anything on the stock skin. So don't complain about anything. It's "As Is" only.

And I know everyone likes large fonts so I've updated all the Typography in the Stock Xenforo skin by 2 pixels.

The upper bar is now growing when a new page is loaded. I see my stats on the main page. Quotes now look differently. Links are brighter. Text is larger.

Good. I just switched.

Working on a new skin. You can select it at the skin selector at the bottom of the page, via the User CP, or you can also select it by clicking this link: New Threads

You can also click the 'Change Width' in the footer to set it to maximize the forum content up to 95% instead of being a fixed width. I prefer the non-fixed width version.

In addition, I'm going to set a maximum size on the signature. Right now I've got it set to 120 pixels max. If your signature is larger than that it will get clipped on the new skin. It will stay full size on the old skin.
Sucks! I hate change and never fix what's not broke is a good rule to live by.
Ofc that just my opinion and they're like assholes.
Everybody has one and they all stink.

To be honest, I was running the "old" skin prior to this but seeing how folks are so concerned about skins now, I just tried both. I'm running a 2016 MacOS and an out of date Firefox browser (78.15) on a 27" Mac display.

To be sure, I could live with either skin but actually prefer the new v2.3 version in the "wide" format.

The only skin I never did like was the black background with white text.

If you don't update your browser you may run into issues soon. We are converting all the images to .webp format as they are smaller and quicker to load. Some older browsers don't support the webp format.. anything newer than 3 years should be fine.

If you can load that above image, you are good to go.

All the forum attachments are being converted in the background, the process has been going since the upgrade yesterday... should be done in a couple days.

Webp support will be very good. I spend a fair amount of time converting them to jpg to insert them into the browser.

This will save me quite a bit of time per week, and the font in dark mode is much better.

I was wondering about that recently.

I've tried to upload and/or ilnk .webp formats in the past and they wouldn't render.

You should be able to attach webp right now, or hotlink them and it'll work. The logo at the top of the page is .webp as well.

Oh, yeah. It does work now...

Only 8 options are on the top line in the reply mode. PoliticalJack.com has 18. That's what should have been fixed.

Not a win, IMHO
