Cannabis has no medicinal value.
That's simply not true.
Ask my friend with MS. Ask him about his spasms.
That’s a ruse to attempt to mainstream the drug.
The culture crap is another excuse. It’s an intoxicant used to alter mental state and that is all.
THC is a godsend for many Americans, especially older people.
I smoked weed for an entire year after falling out of a tree from 30 feet up, it destroyed both my rotator cuffs and damaged a hip.
You can ask my doctor, I tried every anti-inflammatory drug on the market, from steroids to horse sized Advil, and nothing worked.
Finally in exasperation I asked my doctor, "isn't there anything else we can do?" He went to the door of his office, looked both ways down the hall, shut the door, then made a motion with his hand like he was smoking a roach.
I said "you're kidding". He said "I'm not legally allowed to say anything, and I can't prescribe it. But it's worked for others".
After a month of experimentation, I finally found a strain that worked. It wasn't the high power stuff they sell today, it was cheap Mexican dirtweed called "Sour Diesel". Saved my life. I was able to hold down a job, I couldn't even type without it. My only other option was pain pills - opiates, which were popular at the time. And I didn't want that because it really IS addictive.
In fact I even doubt it was the THC that did the trick. I did quite a lot of research, certain strains of weed have an anti-inflammatory called beta-caryophenol, the only other place it occurs naturally is nutmeg and black pepper, and you have to eat many grams to get a medicinal dose. With the weed I was able to take two hits off a pipe and it relaxed my arms enough to function. And it never got me "high", it was cheap weed and there wasn't enough THC in it to get impaired.
Weed unquestionably helps people with cancer too. Among other things it keeps the appetite up, stops them from wasting away because of the chemo. Prevents nausea too.
Weed has MANY medical uses. It's been medically legal in California for 20 years. If you go into a dispensary you'll be surprised, because half the customers are octogenarians.
