Texas House Bans THC

People don’t vote on medicine. It requires FDA approval. THC is not medicinal. That’s a ruse.
The link is only part of the story and the first one I could find without a paywall.
The essence of the story is about stopping the widespread acceptance and sale of a dangerous drug.
No. You are wrong. In many ways. But have a great day friend.

I never claimed I'd kill anyone...I might blow them away with a shotgun to see if they can handle it.

LOl! Just a wee bit..errr...homo-erotic?

I grow indoors in the winter, but just to keep the mothers alive. (Light assisted hydro in a greenhouse)
I prefer soil grown sun kissed flowers.
I do too but I am having trouble with living in three places right now and taking care of them.

I’m entirely correct and you’re in denial.
I personally don’t care if you use pot or any drug for that matter.
But to support and endorse pot as safe and, as so many do now, smoke it in public, thereby subjecting other people to serious risk just because possession is legal, is creepily shortsighted.
Good to see sanity, responsibility and safety becoming paramount in Texas. Now there’s a bunch of democrat states that need to similarly wake up.

Weed has never been legal in Texas, and it isn't now.
They're just closing a legal loop-hole.

A step toward sanity and safety.
Pot advocates are dangerously stuck in 1970.
THC can cause mental illness, etc., and has no use beyond intoxication. It’s not medicine. If it was, it would require FDA approval which would require adverse side effects listing. Pot advocates and dealers won’t want that.

Here in New Mexico we pretty much have a dispensary on every corner where you can buy all the THC gummies you want in addition to the dankest herb that the mind can conceive of.
I saw a sign in front of one of them today advertising $5 GRAMS.
That's the way it SHOULD be.
Just like beer and liquor, if adults want to spend their money on an intoxicant the free market should be allowed to provide it to them.
I don't smoke it (or anything else) anymore but I will say a quarter piece of a 10 mg full spectrum gummy with a couple IPA's and a shot or two of moonshine or a scotch or rye makes for a very nice evening on the patio.
Adults should be free to do things like this without regressive, redneck, bible-thumping politicians with sticks up their asses policing their buzz.

Cannabis has no medicinal value.

That's simply not true.

Ask my friend with MS. Ask him about his spasms.

That’s a ruse to attempt to mainstream the drug.
The culture crap is another excuse. It’s an intoxicant used to alter mental state and that is all.

THC is a godsend for many Americans, especially older people.

I smoked weed for an entire year after falling out of a tree from 30 feet up, it destroyed both my rotator cuffs and damaged a hip.

You can ask my doctor, I tried every anti-inflammatory drug on the market, from steroids to horse sized Advil, and nothing worked.

Finally in exasperation I asked my doctor, "isn't there anything else we can do?" He went to the door of his office, looked both ways down the hall, shut the door, then made a motion with his hand like he was smoking a roach.

I said "you're kidding". He said "I'm not legally allowed to say anything, and I can't prescribe it. But it's worked for others".

After a month of experimentation, I finally found a strain that worked. It wasn't the high power stuff they sell today, it was cheap Mexican dirtweed called "Sour Diesel". Saved my life. I was able to hold down a job, I couldn't even type without it. My only other option was pain pills - opiates, which were popular at the time. And I didn't want that because it really IS addictive.

In fact I even doubt it was the THC that did the trick. I did quite a lot of research, certain strains of weed have an anti-inflammatory called beta-caryophenol, the only other place it occurs naturally is nutmeg and black pepper, and you have to eat many grams to get a medicinal dose. With the weed I was able to take two hits off a pipe and it relaxed my arms enough to function. And it never got me "high", it was cheap weed and there wasn't enough THC in it to get impaired.

Weed unquestionably helps people with cancer too. Among other things it keeps the appetite up, stops them from wasting away because of the chemo. Prevents nausea too.

Weed has MANY medical uses. It's been medically legal in California for 20 years. If you go into a dispensary you'll be surprised, because half the customers are octogenarians.

There are levels of addictiveness (is that a word?)

Heroin and Crack Cocaine lead the pack with nicotine a solid 3rd.

Pot is way down the list. Somewhere between Deviled Eggs and Brownies
Pot is addictive and its use has no nutritional benefits as brownies and deviled eggs do. Pot has no benefits at all beyond potential sedative. Just the opposite of sedative for many.

Every block in town has one of those shops in it. I can't see how they can have enough customers to stay open.
