what happened to the Roman empire is the way of nature. Just like an animal... or a man in the primal state, if forced to be hungry in between kills will in many respects remain very healthy. Staying, focused on outside dangers, alert for its prey and maintaining it's rest. Its body would be lean from the daily exertions with an immune system that would sharply be in tune. Then contrast that with the man today... getting fat and lazy because life is too good, a body diabetic by 40 possibly because it doesnt have to run off the over load of carbs it gets every day, and an immune system that looks like the Democrats and Republicans, turning on itself and turning on the country because it no longer knows who the real enemies are..and like a virus invading the cells of a body and making them reproduce more viruses, certain congress people have allowed whacked out ideologies to infect and reproduce inside the body U.S.A.

The Roman Empire fell partly due to internal problems (factionalism, overtaxation, etc), but also because of outside pressures (The Goths, Vandals, etc). That's about as succinct a summary of the fall of the Roman Empire that you'll ever get!
