The elephant in the room

Should MLK day be moved to where it can be properly observed?

This ain't no white guilt bullshit or nothin', but I feel like MLK Jr. got cheesed today, and it's our government that set the day to remember him to be the same as inauguration day, which if you think about it is just about retarded.
Who da hell did that? It had to have been after 1968.
Who would that be? LBJ? Nixon? Ford?
Which one was the tard that did this?
It is a Monday holiday. I doubt anyone thought far enough ahead to consider Inauguration day. Meh, it happens.

Well, since you asked, I looked it up Duke and the way it works is that MLK Day is always the THIRD Monday of every January. I don't know WHY they decided that way, but since the 20th of January can be any day of the week, it was just a wild and rare coincidence that this year, both happened on the same day, kind of like two planets in conjunction.

So I see it really as a non-factor, but if they really want to fix it, they should make it the 2nd or 4th Monday of the month or like you say, just make it the 15th, since the 15th and 20th of January NEVER occur on the same day.

But apparently this was all worked out by some federal workers years ago, so you can't expect too much. It is now what it is.
Welp, that probably ends the thread, but that's cool. :dunno:

I tell ya wut, I knew who MLK Jr. was a long time before I knew who Donald Trump was. Decades.
Meh, he probably wouldn't even care. He'd be happier to see Americans winning than tooting his own personal horn.
I tell ya wut, leftist shitlords cheating the 2020 election did galvanize all Americans against Democrats and Marxists in the yugest way possible.
Oh yeah, we are all hardened Americans now. You ain't gonna be gettin' away with much anymore. :nono:
I think MLK Jr. would be proud to see the way Americans came together in 2025.

Why in the fuck would the federal government set Martin Luther King Jr. Day in such a manner that it can conflict with presidential inaugurations?
IMO, that's not properly honoring the man that gave his life for his convictions.
I say the day to honor MLK Jr. should be moved. He was an integral part of American history and needs to be remembered as such.
Sure! Let's move it and celebrate the day he died. April 4th needs a holiday. No inaugurations to conflict. [/sarcasm]

This is NOT Idiocracy! I think, I hope, I pray.
Idiocracy was when they made a Monday holiday out of someone's birthday. The actual dates were good enough for Washington and Lincoln until the same group of idiots decided we had too many holidays and combined them into President's Day so that they could add someone else's birthday to the list of holidays. SMFH

Unlike some parents back in the 1960s they shielded their kids from the news. Mine did not, I grew up seeing MLKjr on television on the news as well as other important people of those times. The Sunday political shows became a tradition.
To me as a child MLKjr seemed a very brave man who was pressured from all sides of society.
Donald Trump I first heard of when he and Merv Griffin were in the news at odds over a large business deal. It was interesting.

MLK Jr. did not waver.
That was a real man, and Merv Griffin was a faggot. His show was good, though.

First I heard of him had to be in the 80s--something about Ivana and Marla Maples. I remember the day he was murdered as I tried to avoid getting my butt kicked going to an inner city high school in Phoenix.

MLK day is the third Monday of January. It rarely coincides with an inauguration.

Getting the government to ever go back on anything is like trying to push a mule.
