The Firearms Statistics That Gun Control Advocates Don?t Want to See

To accompany TheBlaze's coverage of the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Houston, we figured it could be helpful to share some gun statistics pointed out to us by some of the NRA Convention attendees. Forget the talking points used by both sides in the gun control debate; we're going to be talking about verified statistics.

Gun control advocates be advised, these are not the statistics you are looking for.

Stats don't "say", stats require context and a narrative. Nice try being glib, sadly it came off as ridiculous. Remember, practice, practice, practice.

What exactly constitutes a ‘gun control advocate’?

Keeping guns out of the hands of convicted felons, the mentally ill, and ensuring the states update the NICS in a timely manner are examples of appropriate and warranted ‘gun control’ measures.

Advocating for a new AWB, magazine capacity restrictions, and licensing and permit requirements are examples of inappropriate and unwarranted ‘gun control’ measures.

The issue isn’t ‘gun control’ per se, but what measures are potentially effective and warranted and what measures are not.

But there’s nothing wrong with advocating for gun control.

Come on, you gun control freaks....tell us how these numbers make a sensible argument for more gun control. Spilane that to me please.

someone who writes a 1500 page document that they claim is solely to expand background checks. how about this. if you are so sure background checks will work, propose a bill that expands background checks but at the same time takes limitations of what people who pass them can own. got the balls to put your money where your mouth is?

Again with the basic arithmetic fail, huh? :eusa_hand:

One is easily able to determine the RATE by dividing the TOTAL NUMBER of incidents by TOTAL POPULATION.

here is some simple arithmatic for you. of all the guns in the USA, only .00036 ever comit a homicide. expand that out to "deadly assault style weapons" and the number is .0000011 so in other words, we don't really have a problem. the assault weapons ban is based on how a gun looks rather than how many actually kill.
