The GOP and Mr. Trump need to propose spending cuts, big ones...

As far as i can see, we keep electing sorts that deny the math EMH

Since Faux News started, the GOP has lost its way on fiscal conservatism, since Faux doesn't care about it, all Faux cares about is the cause of Zionist Fascism.

The last fiscally conservative President was Calvin Coolidge.
Bullcrap!

The debt to GDP ratio was rapidly dropping from WWII until Reaganomics. Republicans are using debt & fiat currency printing to steal value from wages, savings, SS, pensions, etc.

100% of Republicans in congress signed pledge to drown US in debt!

Never ever vote Republican again!

The Tea Party folded into Republicans & made the debt much worse!

For the longest time we were told not to worry about the debt just needed to grow the economy and here we are.
Removing ALL deductions, including the standard deduction doubles revenue to $8T, which basically doubles revenue.

Since we can cut SOME of the Budget, we don't need to double Federal taxes.
1. Send Welfare back to the States. That nets $1.3T in savings. Put the MFs back to work if they are able.
2. Send Education back to the states. That saves $224b in 2024. Education is not in the Constitution.
3. Defense? (smaller military with tactical nukes should work fine)
4. Medicare? Will be bankrupt if not fixed.

For a $2T budget deficit in 2025, we can cut about $1.5T, but from what baseline? IMHO the Federal Budget should revert to the $4T 2018 Budget.
If we cut deductions in half that would net about $6T in Revenue, so the Debt would start to be paid back and the interest on the debt of $1T would start to get reduced.

The Republican Party generally, and Donald Trump specifically do not believe in cutting spending.
Have you seen the Budgets lately? BOTH parties spend way too much. We need to go back to the 2019 $4T Budget.

Biden’s 2025 Budget is $7.30T with a $1.8T deficit______TOTAL BIDEN $6.9T (in theory)
Biden’s 2024 Budget was $7.30T with a $2.0T deficit
Biden's 2023 Budget was $6.13T with a $1.7T deficit
Biden's 2022 Budget was $6.27T with a $1.4T deficit
Trump's 2021 Budget was $6.82T with a $2.8T deficit___ TOTAL TRUMP $7.6T (actual)
Trump's 2020 Budget was $6.55T with a $3.1T deficit
Trump's 2019 Budget was $4.40T with a $0.9T deficit

The GOP needs to stand up and re-embrace fiscal conservatism. So far, it is making ZERO NOISES on that score.
Agreed. Spending like drunken sailors while preaching fiscal responsibility is a lie.

The Republicans should (1) pledge to cut spending before cutting taxes any further and (2) lay out specifically where they will cut and by how much. Then the people can decide.

If they're voted in, they need to follow through. Until then, it's all just lip service and talking points. Cut spending first.

No. They need to secure massive tax cuts in addition to securing appropriate spending cuts: like the entire Department of “Education.”

If that's your solution I wonder why you'd even bother. Going all the way back to 2019 when government spending was already beyond repair is no solution. Not even close to addressing the problem.

Coolidge was the last President to have a surplus every year in office. The debt has been increasing virtually every year since. It doesn't matter who controls Congress or the Presidency; they all increase the debt.

There are no spending cuts that a mass of Republican voters will support. The Dept. of Education is not even a drop in the bucket.

Getting into a war of who can shower this state or that state with more borrowed taxpayer money vs Kamala is a losing strategy.

The GOP needs to stand up and re-embrace fiscal conservatism. So far, it is making ZERO NOISES on that score. Only Vivek in the primary made such noises.

Since the W/Faux News crowd packed the GOP voter rolls with Pro Israel SUBs, this is what has happened... we went from under $6 trillion in debt (and a fuctional budget surplus) when W was elected to over $35 now....

SUBs do not care about math. Math involves numbers and that's way beyond the intellect of the SUB.

and Dick Cheney said Reagan "proved" deficits do not matter... which is why the Cheney family is now clearly DEMOCRAT as it ALWAYS WAS....

Faux News doesn't care about the Federal Debt because that is America, and Faux only cares about ISRAEL. So the SUB "never hears" about the Debt from the two and only two things the SUB actually follows, a Jew fraud of a Christian Preacher and Faux.

For those of us who do understand MATH, this is a HUGE PROBLEM that will not go away without a big fight.

This needs dramatic attention right now. Failure to address the National Debt is suicide as a nation.

You're relying on a man who holds the single term record for adding to the national debt, a man that has built his entire career on MASSIVE leveraged debt to reign in spending to bring down the debt?

Oh, my sweet summer child.

There are no spending cuts that a mass of Republican voters will support. The Dept. of Education is not even a drop in the bucket.
How about sending Welfare back to the states? That's $1.3T annually.

Sending Education back to the states nets about $200b. More than a drop.

If that's your solution I wonder why you'd even bother. Going all the way back to 2019 when government spending was already beyond repair is no solution. Not even close to addressing the problem.
So going from a $7.3T Budget to a $4T Budget doesn't address the problem? Do the math.
