With a little over two months to go before the November election, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced on Monday that over 1 million people have been removed from the state's voter rolls as part of an ongoing effort to cut out ineligible people.
The removal of 1.1 million people from the voter rolls, which include people who have moved out of state, are deceased, or aren't American citizens, happened since the signing of Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) into law in September 2021. At the time, the law was seen as one of several efforts pushed forward by Republican-led states to introduce new voting restrictions following the 2020 presidential election.

Why is it that removing ineligible registrations is a bad thing when the Democrats always keep saying "Democracy must be saved, because legal votes should matter". I know i added the legal votes, which the Democrats do not like, why else would the "dead, illegals, and people who moved out of state" their votes matter....To the Democrats. We know who elections have been stolen, it wont happen again. Voters should not be disenfranchised by bogus ballots showing up, right? Save Democracy, keep legal voting matters.

We are not against keeping the voter rolls clean, with citizens only, registered and living ones, still in Texas, at that!

We are against removing living citizens who have registered and are still living in the state and the address given, from the voter rolls just because they chose not to vote in so many elections, or illegally removing students living and registered in the State, and things like that aimed at primarily disenfranchising democratic leaning citizen voters....to give an advantage to themselves, republicans.

The key to all elections is not disenfranchising any citizen of their right to vote, while keeping the legally ineligible from voting.
