The next American generation is screwed and it ain't my baby because I've been preaching revolution since I was 17.

The fact is, older Americans are having a good time and are in complete denial about how corrupt our government is.

* We have had 40 years of a complete lack of respect for trades. We have paint companies that allow foreign day laborers to stand on the street with a white shirt and cap. What ever skills painters had a gone. Other trades follow, drywall, cabinets, flooring , etc. It was once an old saying that plumbers made a lot of money. California has effectively reduced most plumbers in the state to near minimum wage.

* Unskilled jobs are used as a welcome to foreigners, and it is so bad now, young Americans will not be able to fall back on these jobs, because the employees are expected to be foreigners.

* A semi-skilled worker might earn $18 per hour. When they raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour, they may as well just change their paid wages to the minimum. The minimum wage will soon be the prevailing wage.

* Large companies no longer offer careers. Companies like Sears only keep people for 2 years. It's kind of strange companies like Sears are always hiring. What I realized is, companies that are always hiring are always firing. For whatever reason, they want constant turn over of the work force. What will life be like for the young American who has no job security? One year you're repairing refrigerators, the next year you're a plumber, the next year you're working at Starbucks (career jumping is not favorable with employers either, good luck)

* "Shrinking middle class" You think you are "middle class" because you run your little business, but you're not. The Democrat definition is working class (minimum wage) , middle class (people in union jobs or government bureaucrat positions) or Socialist life-time politicians. If you are in the merchant class, then in their view you should be taxed until you earn minimum wage.

* Burdens of opening a business. Young Americans will try to escape the horrors of being a laborer by trying to open their own business. The requirements of the government will insure that potential business owners have a hefty bill before they ever make a dime. We are rapidly approaching the era where you will have to be rich to open a business. Currently , a person in a large city will need enough capital to run a business for 5 years without making a profit. With rent $2000 to $4000 per month, the profitable business is to make money off of people who want to start a business.

* Background checking is going berserk. Criminal, DMV, credit. The ideal employee is in their 20's, simply because they have no life history. I found out the hard way of why Americans of the past were worried about everyone keeping a file on you.

Now, we have private companies keeping records for certain careers, like trucking.

Anything negative = out on the street. Big companies dictate policy, so going to the interview and charming the manger won't work.

* Too many laws. Kids of the old days would pull pranks. Old pranks are now felonies. Conviction = out on the street.

* They're brining back the days of being a big-shot if you own property. The young people of America will not be able to buy a home, simply because real estate prices are being kept high. Destruction of the American Dream, and no one cares.

* According to Suzi Orman, once your FICO score is ruined, no apartment will rent to you. = out on the street.

* The most widespread discrimination and racism in our history. In California, jobs like the post office and other bureaucratic jobs are being used to entice foreigners to come to the country. Americans need not apply.

* To try to spare your kids from the horrors of the basic work force, you try to enroll them in college. There's already too many people graduating. They keep raising tuition to keep people out. College will not be able to provide much employment.

*College grads will start life with a 200k loan debt.

* With all the problems the young people of America have, they'll have to come up with a monthly Obamacare payment as well.

* Social Security will be worthless. The age will be raised so people pay in their whole lives and get nothing in return. (raising the collection age is in the original bill)

Granny says, "Dat's right...

... an' not just dem...

... we all screwed."

Want to know how to overcome a lot of the problems that you've described in your OP?

Do the same thing that I did...................join the military, make something of yourself and retire.

I'll admit that our government is fucked up, but it is up to us to fix it. The first thing we need to do is demand accountability and demand that they stop robbing this nation blind and that means only spending what is necessary for our maintenance as a nation. WE need a government that will invest into this country and we the people must realize that this isn't the cause of our debt, but the dumb wars and probably criminal behavior certainly is(I think they're growing super fat on our tax dollars). If we stop we will sink and never recover...I am talking about syrian level violence when this occurs.

THe reason I oppose the liberterian mindset is burning the entire thing down is a sure loser... doing away with education, investment into infrastructure and other common sense things will destroy this nation and any ability it has to recover from the robbery.

You won't get any of that by voting for Hillary.

And the far left continues to show why they should never be in charge of anything!

Or as someone once said...

... 'Ask not what your country can do for you...

... ask what you can do for your country.'

seriously? the answer is to join the military and provide troops for the corrupt government?

seriously? the answer is to join the military and provide troops for the corrupt government?

Actually....................no........................the answer was that if you are inclined to perform in a military way, then join the military and defend this country. If you are more inclined to do other things that help people, then join the Peace Corps.

Strength and Diplomacy are both needed.

America has reached its pinnacle and is on the way down. Happens to them all. Seems impossible to stop it.

The current "generation" seem to be a big part of the problem in my view. They've grown up under the no accountability on the internet meme and think it applies to everyday life. The safe space behind the keyboard is nowhere to be found in real life & they're freaking out as a result.

Not I. When my children started posting on My Space as teens the internet in my house was promptly restricted.

Well, I'm talking in general here, just as you were talking in general. We don't need to get into individual cases. Your generation taught them this. The politicians who you people voted in failed to deal with the situations, and are failing worse and worse and worse every year and the people's response to government not working is to try and elect even worse candidates than the ones before them.

Its not the politicians fault. They fail at a lot but raising our children is not one of their job duties despite Clintons "it takes a village" nonsense.
The shit we'reseeing on campuses & in the streets now is a direct result of poor parenting

Where does poor parenting come from?

Poor education, poor social policies that have created ghettos and people living in a cycle of poverty. The inability to deal properly with the end of slavery and segregation that has just continued for ever with people being kept down and under educated and in crime ridden cities.

No, it's not the politicians' fault. It's the people who voted the politicians in's fault.

Society, as it exists now, with cities of 8 million people living in close proximity to each other, and modern media and all that is new, doesn't just function without guidance from government.

Parents are growing up with more freedom to do what they like. They have kids and they simply want to keep their freedom, they often don't have the parental support that previous generations had in dealing with their babies, so they just make it up as they go along.

I deal with parents and their kids on a daily basis. And I can see how inept parents can be. One kid wanted to be somewhere even though he was ill. Too ill to participate properly in what he was supposed to be doing and everyone else had to accommodate the ill kid. Yet his mother said something like "He wants to stay, I can't make him go home", about a 4 year old boy.

Bad parenting, but who is there to tell parents who to parent properly? The right scream that the govt should not interfere, so no one does anything, then people complain that the kids are going crazy....... what the hell do you expect?

The kids screaming that their "safe space" is being violated on campus are not all from the ghetto. In fact very few of them are.

And I'm not buying any of your pro government bs. It boils down to 90% poor parenting & 10% adolescent stupidity imo.

You're not buying anything because you have your fixed view and you're not actually considering very much.

Poor parenting. Where does this come from? How does a parent end up being a poor parent? Think about it.

"Values & mutual respect" is what is at the core here and those two things are not, nor have they ever been, taught by the government.
The fact that those two ideals are also in decline in our government is a reflection of societys decline which is a result of generational change. Our government is a reflection of us, not the other way around.

Loyalty
Duty
Respect
Selfless Service
Honor
Integrity
Personal Courage

Those are some pretty good values that are taught by the government.
