As the data has demonstrated, immigrants are more progressive and open to a more tolerant and fair society. Politically, they diminish the power and importance of conservatism.

Immigration will most certainly lead to a more competitive society, but competition drives innovation, and instead of fearing competition, Americans should embrace it .. especially in a society further removed from the shackles of 'free market' conservatism.

There is no such thing as a 'free market.'

Try and tell that to the 200 Disney IT workers and others who were forced out of their jobs and to train their HB 1 foreign replacements hired at half their salary.

I worked for Oracle for many years as a DBA. Half of Oracle is made up of immigrants from India, and I'm betting that immigrants from India are well-represented in the Disney situation.

Is that the result of immigration, or is it the result of a top-heavy corporate model where profit is the only consideration? Could there be another model that benefits workers as much as those at the top?

In the world of IT, many jobs and tasks we need can be performed without ever stepping foot in this country.

For Americans to compete with the rest of the world, we are going to have to be better educated .. and we could use a different model.

They are NOT Immigrants, they are Business Visas who were brought here because Congress believes Larry Ellison that anyone NOT from India is mentally retarded.
I worked with a plethora of these incompetent Indians and the only benefit they provide is to the Directors and stock holders.

I am a white immigrant. I came nearly 60 years ago. To this day I still need to answer the question where I came from. If black people were asked which African country they came from they would cry "RACISM", in spite of the fact that they call themselves "African Americans" but could not point to Africa on the globe if their lives depended on it..
