A week or so ago, I caught a 30 second snippet of the Dennis Prager radio program. He has apparently asked his audience if they could come up with a better slogan than "MAGA" for the remaining months of this election campaign. A guy called in and suggested the title at the top of this thread, to wit, Things Were Better With Trump.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that that fellow was on to something. Things were indeed better under Trump. Consider:

• Interest rates were low,
• Inflation was down,
• Energy costs were low,
• Federal revenues were increasing andcontinue creeping up as a result of the "Trump tax cuts",
• Unemployment, and in particular Black and Hispanic unemployment were low,
• Iran was suffering mightily under Trump's sanctions,
• The Abraham Accords were establishing excellent, unprecedented relationships between Israel and other Middle Eastern Countries,
• Our NATO allies were starting to meet their prior commitments on Defense Spending (which they had been ignoring),
• Immigration was better controlled than it had been in decades
• Putin was too intimidated to start any new mischief,
• No significant terrorist attacks against the U.S. or its interests,
• No hostages taken by Muslim extremists or Russia.

2) interest rates increased because of two factors, the war in the Ukraine, which Trump didn't stop, Russia was fucking around in the east of the country and Trump didn't stop that, and Russia still had the Crimea, which Trump didn't deal with, and because of Covid, which Trump didn't do an amazing job of. So, interest rates went up because of Trump
3) NATO members were NOT meeting the 2% requirements any time Trump was there, that's total bullshit, they had agreed to meet it by THIS YEAR and more than half have done that by THIS YEAR.

The rest is just childish nonsense, people who want to make things fit, and will ignore most of reality in order to make it fit.

Trump brought us the COVID vaccination, Trump wanted people to get back to work in April 2020. Democrat governors of CA and NY refused and shut down businesses for a year. Trump was cheated in the 2020 election. Should he have sat and done nothing? Would that have been fair to the majority of Americans who voted for him? You should move to Venezuela.
