Maine service cuts: SSA acting chief's regret over brief pause
WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — The acting head of the Social Security Administration has admitted in a report published by The New York Times that he briefly ended key services in Maine as political retaliation following a public clash between Gov. Janet Mills and President Donald Trump.
In an interview published by The New York Times, acting commissioner Leland Dudek said he canceled a long-standing program that allows hospitals to help parents apply for their newborn’s Social Security number — a service known as Enumeration at Birth — because he was upset with Mills after a White House exchange over transgender athletes in high school sports.

Leland was given the job, temporarily, in the first place is because of his undying fealty to a man who inexplicably inspires blind obedience beyond all reason. I'll never understand why.
Whether you agree with Gov. Mills or trump over their dustup, the impulse to exact revenge against the citizens of ME as a proxy for Mills displays an irrational level of devotion that is harmful........and just what Don wants. Does anyone doubt when trump learned of what Dudek did he was thrilled over having his ego stroked when he should have disciplined Leland. This kind of stuff is abnormal and has no place in a democratic republic. You trump fans know that, right?
