Trump is a smart businessman, and he knows the cost Lockheed-Martin is charging for the F-35 is EXTREMELY over-priced. So' he's doing what many other won't - he is challenging the 'sacred cow' of the military industrial complex'.
F-35 program 'cost is out of control,' Trump says
The most expensive weapons program in American military history just got its most powerful critic: President-elect Donald Trump.
The initial costs to produce the more than 2,400 jets to be bought by the U.S. -- and 600 more by other nations -- have almost doubled since the undertaking began 15 years ago.
F-35 program:
•Cost: $400 billion
•Cost has nearly doubled since launching in 2001
•4 yrs behind schedule
•U.S. to buy 2,400+ F-35 jets

Anyone familiar with government military contracts know Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, and others are given bloated costly contracts, are paid whether they meet their production deadlines or not, and whether they meet their delivery deadlines or not. They also know that these military companies and their contracts are quasi-'sacred cows' that don't get seriously addressed.
It's nice to see Trump willing to take them on.
