Titan Sub: OceanGate CEO Didn't Want to Hire '50-Year-Old White Guys' Because They're Not 'Inspirational'

What's a 50 year old white guy gonna give you that no one else can? Be specific.

In this case, the vast majority of people with submarine experience are middle-aged Caucasian Men.

That's the submarine force demographic.

On the bright side, it may offer another wreck for billionaire sight seeing.

No GPS, no sonar ping, no radio transmission but they had a young inspirational development team. The 250k from rich white guys wasn't too bad though.

Oh Geezus, the guy isn't even dead yet and already the ghouls are attacking him. The guy repeatedly skirted safety inspections by various organizations and other certifying inspections, saying that his "proprietary" design would not be understood by inspectors.

Maybe not so much.
With what is coming out about him and his company, it is disturbing there was so little regulation.

I think I have found one of the main problems. Instead of 50 year old White guys they hired these dingbats.

Yes, looks like the rich kids were hiring themselves a harem.

What could possibly go wrong? It can't be the rich guy's fault; rich people are all brilliant. Must have been the janitor's fault.

This infection is in everything we do now. To warn is to be called incels and other names. This while millions of men are now second-class citizens to not be giving opportunities to guarantee equity. This affects nuclear families in a huge way. This causes men to become more criminal like or live in such a malaise to be a negative factor to real growth a nation needs. Meanwhile in China. In a quarter of century, a near backward nation is nearing the precipice of world domination. As we play these games living of our past as we need to purchase products made from them to survive at massively cheaper rates.

Experience is I believe the key. They can be green, purple or blue, but if they are 50 they are far more experienced than say a 26 year old. He shouldn't be skimping on salaries and placing peoples lives in danger to appease some arbitrary, unreliable noble agenda. It's not a video game.

If you watched one of the passenger videos. You’ll see that the submersible had no safety features whatsoever. None.

Scientific submersibles have emergency systems. At least a lever to drop ballast and head for the surface. Pull the lever and you are going up. There was one button on the submersible Titan. The rest was run by a crappy game controller. The cheapest and worst rated game controller available.

Inertial navigation? Nope. Sonar? Nope. Emergency plans? We’ll figure it out.

The reality of the CEO’s vision was that it didn’t matter who worked on it. It was always going to end in tragedy. Nobody could have talked the idiot into putting safety features on the Sub.

Go woke, go ...

OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, who went missing aboard his Titan submersible vessel along with four other passengers on Sunday, told an interviewer he didn't want to hire a bunch of "50-year-old white guys" like other submarine companies because he wanted his team to be "inspirational."

"When I started the business, one of the things you'll find, there are other sub operators out there but they typically have gentleman who are ex-military submariners and you'll see a whole bunch of 50-year-old white guys," Rush told a representative with Teledyne Marine in August 2020.
"I wanted our team to be younger, to be inspirational and I'm not going to inspire a 16-year-old to go pursue marine technology but a 25-year-old you know who's a sub pilot or a platform operator or one of our techs can be inspirational," Rush continued. "So we've really tried to to get very intelligent, motivated, younger individuals involved because we're doing things that are completely new."
"We're taking approaches that are used largely in the aerospace industry, is related to safety and some of the the preponderance of checklists things we do for risk assessments and things like that, that are more aviation related than ocean related and we can train people to do that. We can train someone to pilot the sub, we use a game controller so anybody can drive the sub."
...

He got his wish. They have become inspirational. The whole world is on pins and needles awaiting to hear what their fate is going to be. However, if they weren't going for inspirational, this may have never happened and they might have never been in this predicament.

Who would you rather have flying an airplane? A 50 year ole White guy or some dumbass queer affirmative action Negro, hired because of diversity quotas?

You mean like this guy?

You mean like this guy?

Shit happens, dude. Sometimes the plane or sub or whatever goes down no matter who the pilot is. But when your loved ones are in danger, who do you want in control? The person who offers the best chance for survival or the most inspirational person?
