“When you look at Paris, toughest gun laws in the world, nobody had guns but the bad guys,” he said. “Nobody had guns. And they were just shooting them one by one, and then they broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists. And I will tell you what — you can say what you want, if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry, it would have been a much, much different situation.”

This is the main reason obozo wants to ban guns. So americans can't fight the invasion of muslims and mexicans.

An armed populace serves three purposes..

1. It keeps the government from becoming tyrannical because the people have the ability to remove those persons who get out of control.

2. It keeps the public safer. Police are responsive to calls for help and they are always after the fact reactive. the armed populace is capable of fending off an attacker and stopping the crime while protecting their own life or the life of others.

3. It keeps those who would use terrorism at bay. There is only one thing a terrorist fears more than his master, an armed populace that is capable of killing him before he can act.

Number three is what is missing in France.. they do not fear the public stopping them and the fear of unarmed people being unable to defend themselves freezes any response to stop terrorist actions. They have become victims of their own stupidity.

Another colossal failure of socialism and command/control top down government.
