Trump Seeks to Halt His Criminal Sentencing in New York

You do know that Congress Democrats using tax payer monies had paid hush money to interns those Democrats abused? Seems like you are totally for Democrats being above the law.

Not to mention the trillions of tax payer $$$ that were frittered away on the doomed "Get Trump" campaign of the past six years.

Trump tries to block sentencing in New York hush money case

Lawyers for Donald Trump asked a New York judge to stop Trump’s sentencing scheduled for Friday on his convictions for falsifying business documents.

Jurors found Trump guilty in May on 34 counts of falsifying business records for trying to cover up a $130,000 payment to an adult-film actress shortly before the 2016 election. His six-week trial in Manhattan became a focal point of his campaign, and Trump repeatedly accused the judge and prosecutors of political bias as he campaigned from the courthouse and elsewhere.

They tried to prove Trump’s fraud claims. They failed — and got in trouble.

Trump’s voter-fraud push has led to increasing legal jeopardy, but largely for those who flouted the law as they tried to substantiate it.

October 30, 2024
Four years after the 2020 election, there is still zero proof of the widespread voter fraud that Donald Trump claimed stole the election from him.
What there is is a growing trail of Republicans and Trump allies who bought into Trump’s lies — and even tried to ferret out evidence to back him up. Instead, they helped show that the system worked, and they got into trouble for their own election malfeasance.
The latest apparent example might take the cake. It involves Larry L. Savage Jr., a GOP precinct committeeman and former congressional candidate in Indiana who turned himself in to police Tuesday.
According to charging documents, Savage attended a test of four voting machines in Madison County, Indiana, earlier this month. That test of 136 ballots wound up two ballots short in the final tabulation. Savage went on to say that the count was messed up, and he left the event and joined a Facebook Live event where he talked about the miscount.

This case has nothing to do with President Trump's fraud claims. That's irrelevant.

It has to do with the fake trial that Merchan presided over in New York and some "falsifying information" allegations.

2020 Election Lies Keep Unraveling as Courts Push for Evidence

A conservative group admitted in court that it did not have evidence to back its claims of “ballot trafficking.” It’s a familiar admission.

  • Feb. 16, 2024
More than three years after a swirl of conspiracy theories that the 2020 election was stolen culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, the originators of many of the false allegations are now being forced to admit — some under oath — that there is no evidence to back up their outlandish claims.
On Wednesday, lawyers from the conservative group True the Vote admitted to a state judge in Georgia that they did not have evidence to back up their allegation about illegal “ballot trafficking” in the state during the 2020 election and the 2021 Senate runoffs.
And earlier this month, James O’Keefe, the former leader of Project Veritas, issued a statement after one of its sources recanted his story about fraud in Erie, Pa. “I am aware of no evidence or other allegation that election fraud occurred in the Erie Post Office during the 2020 Presidential Election,” Mr. O’Keefe said.
The admissions are familiar. The conspirators of many other false theories about the 2020 election, when forced to provide evidence that would hold up in court, similarly could not.

Nothing is entered into the trial record until sentencing, Dainty. Try again. He is not a Convicted Felon. Morons! SMFH

‘What has changed?’ An awkward Jan. 6 anniversary.

“What has changed? Has the GOP learned their lesson? I don’t think anything has changed,” said Claudine Schneider, a former Republican congresswoman from Rhode Island who worked against Trump in the latest election, including by joining a lawsuit to keep him off the ballot in Colorado. “There’s a return of corruption, lying continues, blaming, cheating, violent rhetoric. I don’t think the GOP learned their lessons.”

Trump Seeks to Halt His Criminal Sentencing in New York

No matter how many times I see articles like this it jars the mind. It is so jarring because it is difficult to truly grasp what is wrong with a republic like the US of A, when a convicted felon gets elected to the highest office in the land.

A Manhattan judge has already indicated that he will spare Donald J. Trump from jail time, but the president-elect is seeking to avoid the symbolic blow of the criminal proceeding.

President-elect Donald J. Trump has signaled that he plans to mount a full-scale legal offensive to stave off his criminal sentencing in New York, seeking a last-minute reprieve before becoming the first president who is a convicted felon.
...
Although that request is most likely doomed — the judge, Juan M. Merchan, was the one who scheduled the sentencing — Mr. Trump’s lawyers disclosed in the filing that they planned to escalate their effort. If the judge does not pause the sentencing by 2 p.m. on Monday, the filing said, Mr. Trump will “seek an emergency appellate review.”
Hoping to persuade a New York appeals court to intervene, Mr. Trump’s lawyers plan to file a civil action against Justice Merchan and seek to freeze the sentencing, according to the filing. It is unclear when they will file that action with the appellate court, but it could come as soon as Monday.

This is so shocking. Yet, America has now accepted it as the new normal. Since 2015, America has been primed to become numb to what once would have been seen as horrifically abnormal. What was truly unacceptable in public life before the Trump Tower Escalator event, is now seen by many as acceptable.
It is shocking frankly, I'm an immigrant here from Britain and have lived and worked here for 25 years. The nature of the society has changed very much since 2001 when I came here. People like Trump were regarded as clowns by most people back then.

But Trump has managed to feed people's fears and invent new fears, the maga cult is based on fear and that fear has always been an undercurrent in US society but is now the dominant face of Republican politics.

He has convinced many people (not just the uneducated) that he can tackle their fears, they things that worry them he can fix and they've believed him, they did so in 2016 and again in 2024.

I put much of the blame on the fact that the US is a very insular society and most people know very little about other countries, their people and culture. The other thing is social media that has enabled the uninformed and uneducated to feed their own prejudices and Trump has been the one feeding them.

You'll notice the fanatical maga cultists delight in the fact that Trump continually defies anyone and everyone, that kind of petulance used to be regarded as vulgar the hallmark of the gangster and criminal but now is regarded as respectable and honorable, Trump is human filth but even more so are the fools who encourage him and enable him.

The only positive hope I see now is that Trump is an old man and might just have a heart attack or trip down the steps as his late wife did, and break his neck.

Libs and witch hunt judge don’t feel good thst Trumps NDA had motivations they dislike . NDAs always have motivations to benefit the one seeking the NDA. Thats what they do and are there for.

Au contraire Shylock. It is the hallmark of a functioning democratic republic. Something of which you are totally ignorant. If you are unhappy with our government, you are more than welcome to return to the one you escaped.

Fear? intimidation? threatening judges and political opponents? sucking up to wealth? those are in fact hallmarks of something far more sinister but because you are uneducated you can't see, you see novelty, you think this is a sports game but you really have no idea what's going on.
Something of which you are totally ignorant.
I wish that were true.
If you are unhappy with our government, you are more than welcome to return to the one you escaped.
Well I can leave if I want, unlike you.

True, it's an America having gone insane; Trump is a criminal and convicted felon, putting him in the WH is an act of madness.
It's national suicide, Trump despises all forms of authority and fairness, he is about to become the most dangerous person on Earth.

I doubt very much if there are many people outside of the United States that see Trump as anything other than an idiot, a variant of the tired old far right demagogue cut from the same cloth as Mussolini or Hitler or Franco and many other less well known demagogues who did nothing for their country, only themselves as their sycophants.

We in Europe have seen it all before, we learned about it in school and we learn about it because we learn about other countries (unlike most Americans) the trumpanzees though never have, Trump is "new" to them a "fresh" approach, a "clean start" and they're so naive they cannot see what is really happening.

It would be funny actually if it wasn't for the fact there are going to be genuine victims, innocent people hurt and lives destroyed in the "new land of opportunity" - opportunity for investors only.

Anyway Trump is going to be a busy boy in two weeks, just in time for another pandemic:

This will be a breeze though, I man look how wonderfully he did with the last one ! With luck he'll catch it as will most of his vaccinephobic trumpanzee admirers.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump became the first former American president to be convicted of felony crimes Thursday as a New York jury found him guilty of all 34 charges in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through a hush money payment to a porn actor who said the two had sex.

Trump sat stone-faced while the verdict was read as cheering from the street below could be heard in the hallway on the courthouse’s 15th floor where the decision was revealed after more than nine hours of deliberations.
We don't recognize rulings from kangaroo courts.... Trump was railroaded by a corrupt Judge and prosecutor....
Its not real and we don't give a fuck...

These NY lawfare conductors had better be squeaky clean... because Trump's DOJ will dig and if they find anything these traitors will go to prison....
