Before Trump was anti-Cuba, he wanted to open a hotel in Havana
It is becoming crystal clear that Trump knew what he was doing with the NK negotiations -- Now is the time for Trump to do something Obama couldn't do and that is reach an agreement with Cuba that allows tourism and more trade and business opportunity -- that alone will topple Castro's regime or any other communist regime.
When Trump came in and reversed the mistakes Obama made with Cuba, it was the right move -- now with NK under his belt, Trump can revisit negotiations with Cuba on his terms. Trump was right when he said "“We do not want U.S. dollars to prop up a military monopoly that exploits and abuses the citizens of Cuba,“ we will enforce the ban on tourism. We will enforce the embargo."
And he is right, why would you want to prop up a dictator or give him a place on the world stage; if that dictator abuses his own citizens -- especially if that dictator doesn't have nuclear weapons??
From the article: In early 2016, Wolf Blitzer interviewed candidate Trump and asked if he would open a hotel in Cuba.
“I would, I would,” he said, before apparently acknowledging the legal limitations imposed by the embargo. “At the right time, when we’re allowed to do it.”
That is why I would fully support Trump's earlier plan to open up a hotel and casino in Havana if he still feels that would be a wise investment for his business and for America -- now would be the time for him to revisit that idea.
