He is the Ambassador to Ukraine, what else could he say under the circumstances?

Short-term is relative as it is on a minute by minute basis. Right now the war in Ukraine is the most dangerous situation especially with N Korea (surely with the Chinese tacit approval despite what some continue to say to defend the CCP) but that could change in an instant if Taiwan is attacked.

More long term it is definitely China. They are without peers.

The biggest threat to the United States is its rampant interventionism, and mismanaged economy. Expanding on that: the governments apathy towards its own citizens' concerns. Most Americans couldn't care less about this conflict. The US has already shelled out more money trying to prop up the Ukrainian war effort than Russia spends on its military in several years. That's money that the US doesn't actually have, and money that if the US did have it, would be better spent trying to stem the tide of people sinking into poverty.

Listen, I have sympathy for what your country went through when it was under the yoke of Soviet oppression. But it's over now. Your country and mine are in NATO so we're safely covered by the nuclear umbrella. And as for the Ukrainians, I have no sympathy for them after what they did in Wolyn and Galicja. They almost killed my family. Not that we weren't harassed by the communist authorities here.

I would have more concern that China has approved North Korea sending troops to help Russia.

Are the North Koreans actually sending troops to Ukraine? The only evidence I've seen of this is the DoD saying so, and some grainy video of men in green in some storehouse. I'd like to add that even IF true, the amount of troops claimed would make no impact. Even if IF it made an impact in that war, it would have no effect on the American voter's life.
