U.S. states' pot legalization not in line with international law: U.N. agency

Most international drug law is set by the US pressuring countries to adopt US positions or face economic sanctions or other punishments. Happens a lot all the way back to the 70s. US wants to be the defacto boss of the world so whatever we decide here via laws gets pushed onto most everyone else.
 
The US has not given up any rights to the UN - that is not what the UN does.

However, the US has signed a protocal, which is an international agreement. If the US signed, then of course it has some obligations, but in this case who knows what they are.
