The worm is turning but Unions are still phony political bastards...

just sayin...:eusa_hand:

The roll out of President Obama’s health care reform package was always going to be tricky, with vehement opposition from his political opponents and pushback from employers large and small. But after announcing last week that penalties for companies failing to comply with the law will be delayed by a year, the Affordable Care Act has a new, high profile set of dissenters: Unions.

The leaders of three major U.S. unions, including the highly influential Teamsters, have sent a scathing open letter to Democratic leaders in Congress, warning that unless changes are made, President Obama’s health care reform plan will “destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.”

If that’s not bad enough, the Affordable Care Act, if not modified, will “destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking Americans,” the letter says.

It's their own damned fault. They supported him like muslims support Muhammed. They helped f' up America with their support of the President. Now they are going to cry about it? Screw them.

The unintended consequences of the ACA are severe. Perverse incentives are already creating nightmare scenarios:

First, the law creates an incentive for employers to keep employees’ work hours below 30 hours a week. Numerous employers have begun to cut workers’ hours to avoid this obligation, and many of them are doing so openly. The impact is two-fold: fewer hours means less pay while also losing our current health benefits.

Second, millions of Americans are covered by non-profit health insurance plans like the ones in which most of our members participate. These non-profit plans are governed jointly by unions and companies under the Taft-Hartley Act. Our health plans have been built over decades by working men and women. Under the ACA as interpreted by the Administration, our employees will treated differently and not be eligible for subsidies afforded other citizens. As such, many employees will be relegated to second-class status and shut out of the help the law offers to for-profit insurance plans.

And finally, even though non-profit plans like ours won’t receive the same subsidies as for-profit plans, they’ll be taxed to pay for those subsidies. Taken together, these restrictions will make non-profit plans like ours unsustainable, and will undermine the health-care market of viable alternatives to the big health insurance companies.

They have only touched on the "unintended consequences". What are they going to say when our employers stop offering health insurance altogether and we all have to pay for our own under those damned exchanges?

They have finally seen the writing on the wall. Companies are cutting hours and benefits to union members. Well, duh! It didn't take a damned rocket scientist to predict that. Now that these unions have royally screwed the 80%+ of us who are not members of unions they are finally waking up to the fact that the shit is about to hit the fan and their own members are all about to get the shaft too. Bastards deserve everything they get.

My sentiments exactly..the Unions were the first in line for waivers and they'll be the first in line to suck-hole Obama/Democrats in the next election.

I always wondered when and how the definition of full time employment changed from 40 hours to 30 hours per week.

The unions are reaping what they have sown...too bad it's taking down the entire country and not just them.

I think deep down they always figured in getting a pass, and now its time to apply the pressure, maybe obama will kill that portion of the ACA too...*shrugs*

Hillary in 2015 will have to start promising them the goods and you know how that goes, like obama to Medvedev ' after the election I'll have room to maneuver', in short if obama doesn't do it she will promise too. And if elected, probably will.

Then there's this gem:

Fraud fear raised in California's health exchange - AP State News - The Sacramento Bee

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- As California prepares to launch its health care exchange, consumer groups are worried the uninsured could fall victim to fraud, identity theft or other crimes at the hands of some of the very people who are supposed to help them enroll.

yea I saw that...these morons are just now figuring out that they have to perform due diligence on folks who will be collecting confidential information etc.... unreal.

The unions are now wanting their union members to be allowed to qualify for subsidies according to Yahoo article today.

I read this today, too. And here are some interesting dots to connect.

- The original ObamaCare application asked people about voter registration.
- Navigators are being recruited from the Organization Formerly Known As ACORN.
- These navigators will have access to people's ID information.

So, guess how these dots connect for massive voter fraud in hotly contested districts?

or back to the giant voter profile construct, democrats only of course..;)

Unions were always exempt from the mandate's requirements since they are self insured. Self Insured employers do not have to abide by state insurance regulations, only federal under ERISA.

What they didn't count on is those smaller employer groups that currently belong to the union would decrease their employee numbers so their employees could get subsidies on the exchange and the employer know longer needs the union.

The conservative fight to screw over the common working class is not new. I remember when your work schedule suddenly went to 38 hours. Employers dropped those two hours and suddenly didn't have to pay benefits. Employers would also hire "temps" in order to have to pay benefits. Another nasty trick is to "lay off" employees just before they would have retired with the pension they had paid into all the years they worked for that employer.
