Ae you saying the Blackhawk carries missiles? Nope!I personally think that a Blackhawk group of helicopters would be better these days than an A-10.
The Blackhawk itself is usually at least a mile away while smaller and much much faster helicopter gunships do the killing. All are loaded with various missiles suitable for tanks and various armor.
Just saying....101st airborne uses them for a reason.
Or have the all-seeing, all-knowing AWACS warn him and coach his fight. The A-7 has no radar. The only way it would know an enemy aircraft was around would be to physically see it.
Really? Name another aircraft in a fighter role with no radar.Historically that happens quite often.
Most modern fighter to fighter combat is with radars off, at least at first.Historically that happens quite often.
The A-7 has been retired for 30 years. Do you think it can carry large air-to-air missiles?Or have the all-seeing, all-knowing AWACS warn him and coach his fight.
Plus, in the past A-10s have survived being hit by even medium sized SAMs
Granted, but they do have it for targeting. Most modern fighter to fighter combat is with radars off, at least at first.
Historically that happens quite often.
Remember what General Patton reportedly said.It depends on the conflict. Most USAF bases today are for training. If a doomsday conflict ever came that put domestic AF bases in jeopardy, the rest of us would be in deep shit if we were alive at all and you can't eat A-10 planes.
