CNN- A volcano has erupted following a 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck off Russia’s east coast, spurting a column of ash miles into the air, according to state-run media.

The Shiveluch volcano is around 280 miles from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a coastal city with a population of about 180,000 that lies in Russia’s eastern region of Kamchatka.

“According to visual evaluations, the ash column is rising as high as 8 kilometers (5 miles) above the sea level,” TASS reported Sunday morning local time, adding the volcano had released a gush of lava.

There are no reports of people injured, TASS said.

So much for man made global warming.....Mother nature says "hold my beer".

There's a massive area in Siberia covered entirely in volcanic rock, it erupted 250 million years ago and utterly fucked up the planet.....

Russia is a huge country. That was out in no-man's-land. But still interesting.

That would be a super-volcano, and it's not nearly the same thing.

This might have short-term effects on climate, like the Mt. Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines did in the 1990s, but it doesn't solve the overall problem of man-made global warming.

Only Global Warming Doomsday Cult dupes believe there is a man-made global warming problem.

They are in denial that they belong to a doomsday cult.

Check out this video of Kilauea, thr worlds most active volcano. I was stationed in Hawaii 3 years after it erupted in the early 80's and it didn't stop until like 8 years ago. People are now homesteading on the aftermath, and those who didn't accept a federal buyout still own property completely engulfed.
