FDR was a dying man when the U.S. entered WW2. He may have had a series of strokes that the media kept from the American public. His medical records disappeared from a locked safe when FDR died about four months into his 4th term in 1945. The FDR administration ignored Nazi atrocities for about a decade as well as Stalinist atrocities when Stalin became an ally and apparently a close friend of the dying president.
