pfffft

lived on the mass coast all my life

if we shit ourselves every time there was a noreaster, we wouldn't have time for anything else

surfing will be good, though

Ooooh THAT's why my phone keeps telling me there's going to be some kind of wind apocalypse tomorrow even though the source is a million miles away

You have to program your weather app to the area where you live. That way you only get local warnings.

You’re welcome.
It's local. I'm in NOVA and it's calling for crazy winds tomorrow.

Go to a hotel with a multi-story garage, park on one of the mezzanine levels, get a room with no windows if possible and very heavy drapes if not. That should keep you alive in a Cat 3.

Well, We didn’t lie.

I-80 is CLOSED in both directions due to white out conditions.

Eastbound traffic is being turned at Alta.

Westbound traffic is being turned in Truckee.

We will keep you posted as conditions change and when the road re-opens.

Just another windy and rainy day here in the outskirts of Boston. If they are worried, it would be about coastal storm surges and flooding and that only really affects those who live or have homes at the beach. Not that big of a deal for most of us aside from maybe a few power outages and trees falling from strong wind gusts. Business as usual.

Well, my house is still here intact. I haven't been washed away yet. It's still a bit windy but the sun is coming out. I did have some broken branches that I picked up in the yard this morning.

I'm on the opposite side of the country, so is a Nor'Easter basically a snow hurricane?

Some roads washed out here and there in coastal towns, and lots of cars squashed by fallen branches (plus the occasional tree through the kitchen), but all in all New England remains intact.

water is halfway up the back steps. basement has stayed dry, though

dock is totally submerged

thank god for generator back up and sump pumps!
