When Deportations Start, Don't Freak Out

The problem with Operation Wetback was that most of the people who had been deported had been invited in during WWII to do jobs that were left open by servicemen going overseas.

The other problem was, Mexico really wanted those people back, so they had full buy-in from the Mexican government.

But Operation Wetback was largely considered a failure, partially because it did damage to the agriculture industry, and partially because US Citizens were swept up by mistake.

Today, you have a very different problem in that most of the illegals aren't Mexicans, so Mexico certainly doesn't want them. Most of their home countries don't want them back, either.
I'm not sure why you believe that obligates the United States to keep them.

First, demand for illegal labor has increased because we have an outright labor shortage in this country
Could you please expand on this because this is the same claim that many of the tech companies made after they conducted mass layoffs of their workforce only to weeks later apply for H-1B visas which are only supposed to be used when there are no qualified Americans that they can hire to fill these positions.

Deportations on a large scale, are going to begin very soon after Trump takes office in January. Some of us may have gotten to know some of the people being deported.

Let's remember that all these deportees knew what they were getting into, when they came here, in violation of US law. For them, this has always been possibility, and is not a shock.
Let's also take note of the fact that thousands of the deportees committed a crime (US Code 8, Section 1325- EWI - Entry Without Inspection), and could arrested and imprisoned for 6 months + fined. That is IF they did not commit any other crime while they were here, in which case, the penalties could be much stiffer.

Getting off with only deportation and no fines or imprisonment, is not too bad, considering the consequences if they were held fully accountable, as thousands of American prisoners are, serving time in US prisons.

So just remember that the deportees created this situation, and they now are entering into the final phase of it. For children of the deportees, it is unfortunate, since they were either dragged here by their careless parents, or were born here. In either case, they can return to the original country with their parents, and hopefully those countries will not resist them at all.
I'm pretty sure Trump and ICE will focus on and eject the known criminal element first and perhaps those military aged single men who came in by the tens of thousands. I would not be surprised if some sort of incentive was provided to get people to leave voluntarily. I don't think they'll be given bit chunks of cash as some have demanded though. Certainly those who gave birth should be required to either take their citizen babies home with them or maybe a congressional law requiring them to permanently relinquish custody of the child may be necessary if they leave the child behind.

The main problem will be those countries that emptied out their prisons and sent the convicts here are not going to want to take them back. That may require some incentives too.

"Actually", you are thoroughly programmed by leftwing media. Nobody went to court with Obama's or Biden's summonses.

Actually, data shows otherwise.

A new report released today by the American Immigration Council examines 11 years of government data on the rate at which immigrants appear for hearings in U.S. immigration court. The report, “Measuring In Absentia Removal in Immigration Court,” concludes that an overwhelming 83% of immigrants attend their immigration court hearings, and those who fail to appear in court often did not receive notice or faced hardship in getting to court.

The real problem is that the court system is broken. My wife applied for asylum from China seven years ago. She never got a court hearing. In fact, when we got married, we changed to a relative sponsorship (which only took another year, and our lawyer was amazed it went that quickly).

Like Eisenhower, Trump doesn't give a rat's ass what the home countries want. They're lucky if Trump doesn't open up US prisons and nuthouses, and give them our USA riff raff, along with theirs being returned to them.

So they don't want them back huh ? Well

Your wank fantasies are amusing, but the only reason why "Operation Wetback" worked was because Mexico wanted those workers back. Eisenhower also had credibility on the world stage, which you gain when defeating Fascism.

Trump's problem is that the various countries that these folks are coming from don't want them back, and frankly, if you can't get the plane to land, we are kind of stuck with them.

Illegal aliens are a benefit to the various vested interests who gain from them. To 90% of America, they are harm/damage.
As shown in Post # 14.

Most Americans benefit greatly from undocumented workers, every time they go to the produce section and buy veggies. Every time they shit in a public toilet.

7. Terrorists come in to enact terrorism (ex. the 9-11 hijackers came in on visas)

Except- most terrorists are either American Citizens or guys who came in on legal visas. Since 9/11, there has been far more far right white nationalist terrorism than Islamic Terror in the US.

That they use our schools, our hospitals, our police, our fire, our roads… Without paying any taxes.

Contrary to your claim, they are a net drain on our country

Except they are paying taxes. most of those things are supported by local taxes on property, sales taxes, and state income taxes which they are paying.

Nope, they are a net benefit. They've be more beneficial if we had immigration reform.

Because Americans invited them by offering them jobs, dummy. Jobs Americans don't want to do.
Jobs that Americans don't want to do...like voting for Democrats.
Now, I would be all for cracking down on employers who hire illegals. There never seems to be much stomach to do that, though.
I think that's a great idea. But the illegals still need to be deported.

Ho-hum... you guys barely win the popular vote for the fist time in 20 years, and you think people like you now.

Deporting them is kind of pointless if they keep coming back.

Blanket 10 year Prison term for Previously Deported Illegals who return .

Okay.

So..um, where are you going to put them?

Federal prisons are already 10% over capacity.

The Bureau of Prisons faces a host of major challenges. Federal prisons are chronically short-staffed, creating dangerous conditions for both the people working there and for those who are incarcerated. The aging buildings are in need of major repairs and maintenance. The bureau estimates its already overcrowded prison population will expand to 10% over capacity in 2024.

The cost to house a federal prisoner is $39,000 a year!
