When should Trump be sentenced?

What law did he even break?

Don’t just recite what he was charged with, explain it. There was no hush money.
Why don't you just tell us why he is not guilty but it is irrelevant as your not on the jury.

Fact Trump was found guilty. If you believe he is innocent then that is your fantasy.

This is different from Congress trying to impeach Biden. It failed miserably but right wingers believe Biden is guilty and Trump is innocent.

So you think courts are never wrong?

How many cases of supposed rape do we see where years later the accuser admits it was BS despite a jury finding him guilty.

You’re a willing fool just to “get” Trump by any means necessary. You’ll even proclaim all courts in all lands infallible to do it. It’s creepy

It is not a question of being wrong , its a question of did they follow all the rules and a judgment was reached. Just because someone lied in court is not the same as everyone lies in court. Your just fantasizing and looking for a reason to support trump. A Simplistic Fantasy.

Yet there is a little thing called appeal and perjury

Trump was found guilty. Trump lies. If you believe that he is truthful then why don't you ask his ex-wives.

Your a fool to post such what if scenarios and pretend that it matters in the case being discussed. If you believe Trump never lies then that is your business.

using your logic then why have a trial if the possibility exist that someone will lie.

Because lying in court is a crime. Its called perjury and punishable.

Now it doesn't mean it does not happen but the risk is being caught and the consequences is great.

Opinions on an opinion board are just opinions. Some are based on reality and others are based on fantasy.

His sentencing is scheduled for July 11th. 7ELEVEn will have orange slushies for 34 cents, all day long.

You all, the title of this discussion thread is “When should Trump be sentenced?”.

There are other discussion threads regarding NY State's criminal trial of Trump and/or any possible appeal of that trial's verdict.

d0gbreath, you are on-topic. Respectfully, Supposn

Stealers Wheel & Mambo Dervish, you both share my opinion, (not a fact) that Trump is the apparent Republican presidential candidate and his again being elected would likely be disastrous to our nation?

I read and hear of many predicting the 2024 general elections, similar to many of USA's previous years' elections, will be decided in many of USA's states by "extremely thin" plurality of the winner's votes. Do any of you share my concern that those predictions may reflect valid probabilities?

I strongly believe the NY criminal conviction did not reduce the net numbers of Trump supporters. Due to the accusation of selective political prosecution, it may have increased his support among those who were less decided.

You both question my opinion (unsupported or refuted by facts), if the NY State criminal trial's sentence of Trump is announced prior to the 2024 general elections, it will martyr him among many if not most Trump supporters, and many of those who are not yet opposed to his election or are undecided. Thus, the earlier announcement of sentence may be the actual cause of Trump winning the 2024 election.

Do you both believe Trump's winning the 2024 elections is not conceivable, or highly probable, or do you agree it's a real possibility?
I prefer that the NY judge hold off announcing Trump's sentence or doing anything to further hinder his campaign travels in the USA, until at least a week after the 2024 elections. What do you both believe is the 'downside of such a calendar delay in comparison to the probability of announcing sentence in July of 2024 may tilt the 2024 election to Trump's favor?
Even if Trump's jailed, he will be a presidential candidate who can win, be sworn in on January of 2025, and again become president of the United States.

My first preference is apparently being realized. NY State will not pronounce sentence upon him prior to election-day. Regardless of my sharing Trump's preference, I've concluded regardless of whatever sentence is pronounced upon Trump, Trump would politically benefit from sentencing prior to the election-day.
More than 3/4 of our nation's voters are likely more or less firmly decided upon which presidential candidate they will vote for or against. Polsters tell us more than 4/5, (in excess of 80% ) of U.S. voters' have made their decisions. Voters who now remain less than firmly decided are a particularly peculiar type of voters.
If we believe the pollsters are correct, the consequences of this election will be determined by polarities of critical states voters much less than the "margins of statistical errors". Thus it's these "peculiar undecided voters who will determine who will next occupy the oval office.

Among those undecided voters considering the sentence upon Trump to be excessive, Trump will be their "martyre". If the majority of undecided voters who consider the sentence to be comparatively mild, they may also likely believe the mildness is a reflection of the judge's opinion regarding the severity of the crime for which Trump was found guilty, then certainly Trump was politically prosecuted and he's deserving of their vote. That's why I believe sentencing prior to election day would have been to Trump's political advantage.

This country has no justice system having the right wing judges in the supreme court. They are criminals and bought and paid for. No one gets picked by Trump without the promise of them doing what Trumps says. anyone who thinks different is a blind idiot. The whole court should be dumped and only replaced when their are regulations to stop these conservative Creeps from making law to destroy our system and law and order.
