This news makes Trump supporters look very bad.
They look like hypocrites for criticizing Joe Biden for advocating a mask mandate.
They will now probably argue that state mandates are fine, but national mandates are not.
But there are two problems with this alternative excuse:

1) the White House admits that masks will make things better in tennessee. Therefore it would be beneficial for states to implement a mask mandate before the s*** hits the fan, so that Coronavirus doesn't spin out of control.
2) Zero conservatives have ever used the argument that state mandates are okay but national mandates are not. Their position has always been that no mandate whatsoever is good, no matter how local it is.

Nothing but gobbledy-gook.
There is no proof, other than the AP report, that the White House released this report.
Is this another Pelosi smear attempt using a fake leak to the media as proof?
I think so.

Another strategy could be yelling fake news, to avoid the embarrassment at all.

No, it puts the Trump regime on an equal footing of stupidity and science-free virtue signalling as Biden.....If this is even true.

Actually, Biden called for a nationwide mask mandate for anybody who steps foot outdoors.

He's off his rocker.

People are out of work, kids are getting dumber and they are burning cities and tearing down tradition but the crazy left wants the authority to lock up your ass for not wearing a freaking mask. They want to release felons who are in the U.S. illegally but establish a gestapo federal force to herd people into gulogs for the crime of not wearing a mask in public. God help us if crazy Joe and Kammie ever get elected, you can kiss the Constitution goodbye.

An even better strategy is read the article and you'll discover that the story is nonsense and double-talk.

Mn has mask mandate, cases are thru the roof.....oooooooops
So does Kentucky! We had our 4th highest total number of cases yesterday!

People are ignoring the mask mandate and COVID is running rampant!
I see very few unmasked if any here
Everywhere I go, I see at least 20% of the people not wearing a mask, and about another 20% not wearing them over their nose! This morning at breakfast. 10 people sat side by side at the counter, 18 inches apart, and not one was wearing a mask! They were all men without wives and families with them. Many of them were prime candidates to suffer complications from COVID. I bet I will see their deaths listed in our local paper soon! The number of deaths in our county has rivaled the rates in April and May.
