Who let the DOGE out?

Give education back to the states where it used to be. At least there are several states that
will be giving the children a proper education,
Reading
Writing
Arithmetic
History
etc.
There should be a federal mandate that states FULLY fund their education systems. The levy systems that they have in place in WA and ID are dysfunctional. It is crazy that every two years teachers, admin and programs have to worry about continuity of jobs, schools and programs. WA has a constitutional requirement to fully fund the schools and the democrat legislature thumbs their noses at it. I am not sure about state requirements in ID, but both Lakeland and Couer d'Alene school districts have been wondering if they will be in existence the last two levy elections. Lakeland is currently up in the air trying to figure out where to cut. Not good for the kids.

you don't want them to learn how to stroke a penis?

I know at least a dozen elementary school teachers in CA and a couple in ID and a couple in WA and every one of them teaches cursive.

Schools largely gave up on teaching cursive many years back but then people complained and student grades and IQs declined, etc., and some schools have gone back to teaching it. A few people realized that writing is about more than just filling out reports--- cursive is a form of brain-writing where the brain projects its thinking and directs the fingers putting on paper how you think, in effect, by training the hand, it has the reverse effect of also teaching the brain to put together thoughts in a more orderly fashion.

Agreed, it has as much to do with fine motor skills as it does reading and comprehension. I don't think most schools abandoned it. The media will find that outlier and panic porn it. They have done the same thing with the pledge. I know there are a few whack job "teachers" out there that don't do it, but by and large the vast majority of classrooms still do.

DOE is 4% of the total budget. The vast majority of that is Federal student aid. Thumbnailing but ~2% of the 4% is student aid. Making it more "efficient might save you a couple dozens of millions but thats it. Getting rid of student aid is deleterious to voting chances in the future...

Great, destroy the DOE and give ALL the billion dollars to fund the DOE to students trying to afford the ridiculous tuition the greedy Left wing colleges around the country charge them

Problem solved.

So where are the dumbest kids? The ones who can't read at grade level or do math?
They’re definitely in the inner-city of Baltimore. Not a single kid in a single high school scored proficient in math.

But if employers advertise for “black kid who thinks he has been oppressed by whites,” he’s got a job!
