I don't understand. If the Republican message is so powerful, why do they have to lie to get votes?

At least 15 websites that appear to be official campaign sites for Democratic candidates, are actually the handiwork of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

In an effort to improve their online efforts this election season, the NRCC’s digital team came up with what the group believes is a great idea: get out the Republican message through fake Democrat sites.

“The idea is people who are looking for information on the candidate, one of the places we all go now is online and so this is a way for folks to find out more about the candidates and information they may not find on the candidate’s own site,” said Daniel Scarpinato, the NRCC's press secretary.

The NRCC bought up hundreds of URLs on potential weak Democratic candidates and created sites that mimic the real ones.

Getting those websites fixed after anonymous gets done with them will cost a bundle.

LOL...the one link given proves cnn lied. check it out:

John Lewis for Congress

this is what is says:
John Lewis is bad for Montana:

After more than a decade working under Baucus, John Lewis has pocketed over $568,000 of taxpayers’ money
Lewis has been laying the groundwork for his campaign by visiting every county in Montana on the taxpayers’ dime
Lewis has spent nearly 12 years working under Baucus and was a top aide to the “chief architect” of Obamcare

Please come back and visit this site to learn more about why Lewis needs to retire from Washington.

if any voter is too stupid to figure that site is a parody and not supportive of lewis they should not be allowed to vote.

oh no.....NTG....did you read this far down in your article?????

The NRCC press secretary told us the Republican strategy is cleverer, but that Democrats have done the same thing.

One day after CNN’s interview Scarpinato directed CNN to a site mocking a Republican built by the Florida State Democratic Party, which the national Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee insists it had nothing to do with.

Let me get this straight, Democrats are so stupid they think that this is a site that supports John Lewis.

John Lewis is tired of sitting on the sidelines watching his boss, longtime liberal crusader Max Baucus, get all the credit for advancing President Obama’s out-of-touch agenda, including ObamaCare. But despite being ObamaCare’s “chief architect,” Baucus hasn’t had any problem trying to distance himself from the law earlier this year, saying he sees “a huge train wreck coming.” Will John Lewis put himself at odds with the President now that he’ll be in the spotlight? Or will he stand by the disastrous bill his boss helped to craft?

You beat me to it.

Jesus, are you truly that thick, NTG? They lie to win. Just like the Democrats.

Now, get over yourself and quit pretending the Democrats are any better than the Republicans.

It is not "pretending".

Our plutocrats calling themselves "Democrats" have a slightly populist bent to their rhetoric.

Our plutocrats calling themselves "Republicans" have a DECIDEDLY un-populist rhetoric.

Both parties belong to the same club. Unless you are a plutocrat, I would think you would prefer the slightly populist way. Better for "we the people".

Dear Yurtie,

Why are you so dense? Do you not notice the difference meant to deceive vs one meant to mock?

Or one with a huge DONATE plea with a link going directly to the Republicans?

Gawd...you are a walking, talking, breathing testament to the need for abortion.

Ahh...just where is the plea for donations on that one? Thanks for admitting you're as much a braindead schmuck as Yurtie.

Some Dems may lie, just none to the massive extent as Republicans. It wasn't a Democratic president referred to as Tricky Dicky, ya know...

Additionally, dimwits, if you care to look again, the page on Jolly actually tells the truth, not lies. What's your excuse?

I will now comment on this thread's title...
Why not include the word "Republicans"?
Ambiguous thread titles are annoying.

That is the point I made in another thread. But the truth is that the left wing does think their voters are too stupid to figure it out. Their voters need their overlords help to figure these things out.

I guess you have been getting all kinds of calls from your democrat buddies about a web site Lewis put out that not only tells us why not to vote for him it asks for donations to the RNC. I bet they are really confused as to why someone running for office would post such as site. Good thing they have people like you to tell them what to think.

TM izzatyou?

NTG is upset because she gave Karl Rove her bank account numbers to get the "Free Stuff" promised on the Fake Website

I agree that this is unbelievably low-down. I wish it were confined to one small group or even one party. But it's not. Deceitful campaigning and lying happens more than honesty in today's political climate. You're a sucker if you buy in from either direction.

I have not seen the websites but there might be grounds for legal action against the creators of the sites, especially if they are collecting money. It's called fraud.
