Wow.............just the other day a school board was holding a meeting to discuss racism in the school. When one parent got up and told how his son had been bullied because of his ethnicity, another parent interrupted him and asked why didn't he stay in Mexico.

The man is a small business owner, has 3 restaurants, and came here over 40 years ago.

Why is it that people feel that comments like these are appropriate in public, especially when it is a school board meeting to discuss racial tensions? And, not only did he manage to upset most people at the meeting, his family has gone onto social media to denounce his remarks.

'Why didn't you stay in Mexico?' Parent's racist remark interrupts anti-racism school board meeting

SALINE, MI -- A Michigan parent interrupted a school board meeting with a racist remark, while another parent was talking about how racism at the school was affecting his child.

Adrian Iraola, who is Latino, had a microphone and was sharing a story about his son crying himself to sleep because of the racial abuse he was being forced to endure at his school.

Iraola was mid-sentence when a man seated behind him spoke up.

"Then why didn't you stay in Mexico?" the man, later identified as Tom Burtell, said.

The interjection caused audible gasps and looks of shock from other parents in the room.

Other people in the audience can be heard saying, "You need to leave," and "That's disgusting."

The video was taken at the Saline Area Schools meeting and shared by Ann Arbor News/MLive.com.

Burtell's son posted on Facebook distancing himself from his father and his father's "views of hate." He also said none of his 10 siblings condone their father's actions.

There will always be idiots in any crowd....but this should show you how wrong sanctuary cities and open borders are....either work with us within the laws or face this kind of angst....

Italians, Irish, Germans, Jews, Russians, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese and now Mexicans, so as years fly by society is still stuck on stupid...

The Parent should have said the reason why is because his businesses supply jobs and create income for their community, and should have asked does that individual supply the same thing for their community...

Sorry, but this has zero to do with sanctuary cities or open borders. This man came here LEGALLY over 40 years ago, and has 3 restaurants in the area, meaning he's a small business owner, as well as a job creator.

Good question. What exactly does the idiot who said that stupid comment do, and how many people does he employ?

I'm just showing you where that kind of response comes from....if the supporters of sanctuary cities and open borders think they can voice their wacky ideas with no repercussions they are wrong....and you know why the left does it....they want to anger their rivals....so this is what you will get in return....

That would have been my question and a kind reminder to the community that Mexican Business owner has three businesses that put not only money into other local and state businesses but also supplies tax dollars to fund that school those kids go to!

I find it kinda interesting that there are people out there who feel empowered to make comments like this. And, it's not because of sanctuary cities and open borders like Rambunctuous said, it's because of the rhetoric spewed daily by Trump.

How is that racist? Here's how, it's not. It's what idiots like you say about anyone who expresses an opinion that you don't like.

ILLEGAL criminals SHOULD stay in Mexico. Is the man who was interrupted a legal citizen?

No you are wrong...you are not taking into account the epicenter.....you are dismissing where that kind of anger materializes....and why....if you want harmony it takes both sides....

This is because white liberals have set minorities and whites against one another while they [white liberals] fight it out for top dog in the democratic party...I would gladly take in 10 minorities for every white liberal who leaves this country for good.

There were people making remarks like this, long before Trump ever came on the scene.

Thank you for noticing that some people at school at public school-issue meetings say inappropriate things. That's true, even with the free speech we have in this country. And yes, sometimes the President says more than he thinks and makes some people mad. But the immigrants I've heard him go after are the child abusers, and people who sell drugs that kill 300 people a week in this country because they're routed from overseas to Mexico where people strengthen them to sell better. The ones that are killing our people route drug sales through coyotes who also traffic underage girls to unscrupulous sex trade vendors who have no concern for these children whatever except to have them raped over and over for the big bucks.

President Donald ended his acquaintance with Jeffrey Epstein for using one of his hotels to have a little girl raped. He put a court-ordered restraining order on the man that prohibited him from even coming on any Trump property any time. And to my best knowledge, that happened years ago. President Trump values and loves his own children, and wants children in America to be treated with dignity and respect. He also never once colluded with Russia nor any other world leader and never did quid pro quos, nor did he obstruct justice in protecting his Executive Office from predatory members of the deep state who wanted to trick him into making a mistake but were unsuccessful, because President Trump is an honest businessman who knows the difference between right and wrong types of transactions. And he fires people who lie, deceive, cheat, and betray him. Every responsible President who ever did the right thing has had to fire someone he'd rather not fire for doing something wrong intentionally.

I hope the Democrats learned their lesson not to impeach an innocent person. History will not be kind to Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, Waters, Clinton, and Obama for their roles in covering up their own Russian collusions, plotting a President's demise that didn't pass muster, and giving state and national assets to a foreign government for who play the cheap kickback game when the product is worth a trillion or two.

I urge the authorities that be to reopen the Hodgkinson shooting of Republican House members, and in particular that list of names he had in his top pocket that disappeared, but not before someone noticed Scalise's name was at the top of his hit list. We need to know who furnished Hodgkinson with the damn list. :(
