Europe's problem is gullibility, kindness and moral weakness. If they wanted, they could put up their own military alliance. I am positively surprised by Macron showinh cojones though and perhaps good things will comefrom this.

The misunderstandings of NATO and its finances are incredible.

First, as a military alliance NATO has been very, very successful. Putin fears NATO. Sweden & Finland would not have joined if it was anything less than successful

Second, the U.S. supplying the lion's share of NATOs forces has resulted in 80 years of U.S. military development and dominance. It has caused the U.S. economy to be the most powerful economy in the world.

Third, the U.S. military has been financed thru deficit spending. We can do this because we are the world's currency reserve. The deficit doesn't matter (even when Democrats are in the White House!).

Fourth, Europe has the economy to easily develop it's military industrial complex and protect itself against Russia. The French have never trusted that the U.S. would get into a nuclear war with the Soviet Union or Russia to save European cities. The French have a large, robust, high-tech military that alone would be more than a match for Russia - including a large nuclear arsenal. Russia has an economy the size of Italy's. Russia is not a super-power or even close to being one. It's only the huge Russian ego & lot's of nuclear weapons that makes them think they are.

Fifth, I know I wrote the word 'French', so I'll pause to let the MAGGOTS roll their eyes for a while...

Sixth, If the U.S. leaves NATO, it will cause the collapse of a huge segment of the U.S. economy. When added to the other economic B.S. Trump is doing the U.S. economy will collapse, we will lose our status as the world's currency reserve and then the deficit WILL matter. It will be the end of the U.S. as a superpower.

Seventh, The U.S. still has an enormous arsenal of nuclear weapons that are a threat to Russia. Putin has based his career on murder. If Agent Orange (aka Krasnov) gives him the opportunity, Putin will not hesitate to incinerate all of us.

No, the U.S. only became economically dominant after WWII.

Spending on NATO, Korea & Japan, along with the constant mantra of Soviet aggression justified the massive military build up since WWII.

Once we leave NATO our economy is going to take a hit. Add that to the rest of Trump's economic stupidity and the U.S. economy is done.

I am not Democrat, but abortion is a key issue to me as one's position on that tells one's view on a woman's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
