Zone1 Why doesn't god just kill satan

Many believe Satan will be killed in the Lake of Fire along with all the wicked. Some believe he will be tortured for eternity just as they believe the wicked will be tortured. I don't believe in this god
Since we know nothing about the Lake of Fire, except what we are told about in the Bible, we pretty much have to believe what it says on the subject:

Revelation 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Once again, the age-old question of why God allows continued suffering.

That is the real question here.
And what would your answer be to that age old question?

You are also falling into the trap of personalising entities.

Universe is Consciousness and that encompasses the Good , Bad , Indifferent plus the kitchen sink .
It simply "IS" .

Sheeple just partial out bits of the whole and personalise them to make it easier for them to comprehend at a very simple level .
Except that it doesn't work--- as the original question shows .

We are talking Universe, not something which is Universe minus a bit, which we choose to label or name Satan .
The painter is not the painting. Our existence is the alternate reality. God is existence and provides reality to all parts of the universe at all times. We are spiritual beings experiencing a human existence. We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. The sooner you people realize what you really are, the sooner you will begin having amazing human experiences.

Satan, that ever elusive talking serpent of old, is just a metaphor for a despicable human archetype, a sadistic malignant narcissist. Killing Satan is not for God to do. Killing a malignant narcissist is not really helpful, even if satisfying. Casting them out of their lofty positions and publicly embarrassing them deflating their ego making them live in shame as the lowest of all lowlifes instead of being celebrated as beautiful, stars, wealthy geniuses (with really good hair), is work for humans to do, and by far a fate worse than death for every egocentric cruel petty tyrant. Think! "Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" To understand what that means see Gen 3:14

Not paying homage to a devil, putting Satan in its place as the lowest of lowlifes is the only way to rid the world from the deadly effects of being bitten and dying from the poison of a talking serpent, a descendant of Satan.

So the question really isn't why doesn't God kill Satan, the question is why humans haven't done that yet, WTF, whenever and wherever he raises his ugly head. When Satan asks you do do something. Just say no. lol. its easy.

A devil without his minions, er, possessions, is like an unarmed soldier running bigly into battle completely naked.

A joke.
So nothing supernatural at all?

Either that or God tried to alert people to the cause of all the inequality and suffering in society from a few devils who prey on the gullible seeking a smooth and easy life off the backs of disposable people irrelevant to them.

The story about Adam and Eve is a solemn warning to young children about the dangers of losing your sanity for life to a con artist and deceiver. The pharaoh, a star of the ancient world, wore a serpent on his headdress and was an expert at divination, the magical arts, sorcery, what is now well known as brainwashing or mind control.
Sounds like you are secularizing religion to me.

Spirits are eternal. They can't be killed. That includes us. You will be you for eternity in various realms.
Humans were created mortal so there will be no more Satan's:

The wicked will be ashes under the feet of the righteous

?
It doesn't make sense to me. Just seems like a way to instill fear.
Satan raised issues against Gods universal sovereignty in the rebellion of Eden. Mortals chose this sick system by rebelling in Eden. God is showing all creation once and for all time he is correct. This sick system proves 100% he is correct. His Kingdom will cure it all forever.

Satan is doing EXACTLY what God intends for him to do, which is to test us.
If Satan is doing exactly what God intends for Satan to do, then iit would be incredibly unjust for God to punish Satan at all, much less via torture and forever.

God turns lemons to lemonade.
Satan is the god of this world UNTIL Christ returns.

Satan's spirit INFLUENCES Mankind, but he only has power over Man to the degree that Man goes along.

A Christian CHOOSES to follow God over Satan. So God gives those who have rejected Satan His Holy Spirit which allows the Christian to follow Christ and resist the devil.

Growth comes thru struggle. God USES Satan to further His plan for Man.

But Satan will be held accountable for his rebellion

Exactly.

Once again, the age-old question of why God allows continued suffering.

To learn and grow. Whatever one suffers doesn't remotely compare to the ecstasy that awaits.

My friend Irish Ram and I have differing opinions about the LOF and forever punishment.

I believe that Revelation 20:10 is mistranslated in most English translations. I believe the following translation of that verse is correct. Also, I understand that the LOF is a terrible experience but it's also restorative, or so I believe. Brimstone, by the way, is a purifying agent. The use of the words "fire and brimstone" are metaphors, along with the "Lake of Fire", to describe a refining process. So Revelation 20:10 is actually describing the refinement and transformation of Satan. The "ages" will culminate after ALL have pledged loyalty to Jesus, who was sent by God into the world to reconcile "ALL THINGS" (Colossians 1:19-20) back to himself. You can read 1 Corinthians 15 to read more about the end of the ages, aka the "end of the world".

Edited to add that the word "torment" is derived from an ancient Koine Greek word that was also used to describe a testing process in refinement. In regard to this verse it means that Satan will be purified and tested until the purification is complete. There is a process to this. Jesus didn't create beings to mindlessly torture them for "eternity".

Revelation 20:10 YLT

and the Devil, who is leading them astray, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where [are] the beast and the false prophet, and they shall be tormented day and night -- to the ages of the ages.

I suspect the devil 😈 has performed many services in many religions at many times. He came into his own when Jews and Christians re-imagined their religion from a religion of a people to one of an individual.

The Bible gives us a pretty clear picture of what happens to us when our clay exterior gives out.
We are recognizable even without the clay. We can speak. We have tongues. We can thirst. We can feel remorse. We can function better without having to carry 100+ pounds of clay around. We are interdimensional.

Luke 16: 19-31 gives a clear picture of our lives after death in 2 different locations. And according to Paul, we go straight up to the Lord. All of it says we are made in our Father's image. We are eternal. Just like the angels.

The transfiguration is another example. 2 of the 3 people involved came from different dimensions. One from Abraham's Bosom and one from Heaven. Moses lived about a thousand years before Jesus, and Elijah left the earth about that long before Jesus came here. And yet, there they were, alive and well, and having a conversation with Jesus.

If God wanted children, and His children ceased to exist 100 earth years after they were born, then not one second of eternal time has passed. God's children would come and go in less than a second.
But death is actually gain. We will sit with Him at His table. We will live in our mansions while we are there, with our loved ones who accepted Jesus' gift of propitiation. Sheer joy. We are loved with a love so great we can't comprehend it.

The Jewish belief - or at least one of them - is that Satan is an angel working for God to tempt man as a test. So, yeah, according to that belief God wouldn't be punishing Satan.

I have a different belief which is that there is no Satan - either fallen or working for God - and that man is his own worst enemy and serves as his own personal Satan and that we are being tested by God in how we respond to pretty much everything. That it is our hardships which shape our character for better or worse. So all of these idiots - like the OP who are waiting for a sign from God - might as well be jerking off because God's plan doesn't call for letting anyone know they are being tested. If you want to know what someone's character is in reality, they need to be observed without knowing they are being observed.

And oh, yeah... this is certainly not the Catholic position on Satan. For all I know they are right and I am wrong.
