In a Republic, actually
ā€˜The real point of the Administration’s moves is not to combat antisemitism, racism, or sexism, or even to promote free inquiry and the diversity of political viewpoints—all of which universities should be doing as part of their avowed missions. The goal is rather to bring the university, as a representative of major institutions of civil society, to its knees. In the narrow sense, Trump is attacking perceived centers of left monopoly power, in an extreme gambit to ā€œown the libs.ā€ In the broader sense, the moves are part of an attack on institutions, including the legal profession, nonprofit organizations, and the press, that play essential roles in a democratic society. And, in a development that has been decades in the making, civil-rights laws have been reduced to cudgels for coercing universities into subservience.’

Trump’s attack on our democratic institutions, including the legal profession, nonprofit organizations, and the press, is consistent with fascist authoritarianism, to destroy those institutions which oppose Trump’s despotic agenda and expose Trump’s campaign of disinformation and lies.

Cool story.

Harvard can be as anti-Semitic and racist as it wants. They can just do it without tax dollar funds or tax free status.

Funny how lefties are always having a cow over billionaires not paying taxes, while Harvard rakes in $6.5 billion a year tax free.

Of course Harvard is free to do what they want, but they can do it on their own time and their own dime. With their multibillion dollar endowment they don't need federal funds.

To be honest I was shocked at home much money they get.

I find US colleges are mostly good at wasting money building beautiful buildings, keeping beautiful grounds, millions of golf carts and the like.

The only problem I could see here is that their ability to give poorer students a good education will be diminished

They're just like the feds, one large bureaucracy and bureaucracies are really, really good at wasting money. They have the money to fund all the scholarships they want, the question is, is that what they want?

In truth, there was very little of Harvard giving a good education to the poor before this.

Defending Harvard is like defending our evil MSM, or supporting the loss of our first and second amendments, or supporting biological men in women's sports, or like supporting sanctuary cities, or like supporting a 10 year old child's right to mutilate his genitals without his parents' knowledge, or like open borders, slave labor, free trade, tent cities, poverty, wars and lawlessness. These aren't the values of America. They're just a fucked up system of welfare for the rich that Democrats use to rob taxpayer money with impunity.

It appears that bot Harvard and Cornell Universities have decided they're too big to take orders from the government that they suckle billions of dollars each year.

Blah, blah, blah more backward, totally incorrect libtardbabble from facediaper.

If Harvard is so intellectual and scientific, why did they take Fauci's Democrat position on Covid. I'd say that wokeness trumps science at Harvard, so we don't really need their tainted research. Defund.

Naaaa…..the antisemitic Qatar will make up the difference to keep the indoctrination against Israel and Jews going.

I think there should be a law that our colleges cannot accept money from foreign countries - many who have agendas antithetical to American values.

My tax dollars should not go to Leftist indoctrination centers like Harvard.

11% of their income comes from federal funds. Time for them to stop taking other peoples money.

Harvard is so woke that it was afraid to condemn the antisemites marching around campus chanting ā€œDeath to Jews!ā€
