If it turns out that Melina inserted that section on her own (meaning she gave it to staffers and said I want it in) then Trump is in a difficult place. He can't fire his wife and he can't fire his staff for doing exactly what she said.

But if you look back to 2008, the McCain staff has their hands full with Sarah Palin, a volatile, vindictive, less than intelligent women on the ticket who they had to keep happy. She went off script many times and partially cost McCain the election. I don't think Melania is anything close to that, but the way they are handling it and doubling down on an obvious mistake is just pathetic.
