Will The Second Civil War Turn Violent?

In a recent column, I made the case that Americans are fighting the Second Civil War.

The deep chasm that has opened up between the left – not liberals, the left – and the rest of the country is so wide and so unbridgeable that there is no other way to describe what is happening. But I noted that at least thus far, unlike the First Civil War, this war is not violent.

Unfortunately, there is now reason to believe that violence is coming. In fact, it’s already here. But as of now, it’s only coming from one direction.

Left-wing thugs engage in violence and threats of violence with utter impunity. They shut down speakers at colleges; block highways, bridges and airport terminals; take over college buildings and offices; occupy state capitals; and terrorize individuals at their homes.

Of course it all ready has turned violent, but what we've seen is just the tip of the iceberg.
We have lunatics on the loose who want to stop free speech, but then turn around and say their Free speech was violated. They are hypocritical lunatics who still live in their parents basement.

They are not legitimate protestors. They are political street thugs seeking to overthrow the lawful government.

America is not 1930s Germany. Eventually, the Americans will get fed up and mow them down in the street.

Could be, although not for the reasons the mentions.

Human society swings back and forth from Liberal and Conservative like a pendulum. Violence is usually the limit that causes it to swing back the other way. A few violent riots and deaths, especially with innocent bystanders, will cause many American citizens to take notice and reflect it in their voting.

Up until now, the United States had differences and some things that were agreed upon. Not so now. There is not a single point of agreement and none of compromise either. Even at the time of the civil war, the people did not hate and despise one another as they do now. The only prospect the various factions can agree on is that they want to get down to the business of killing each other as soon as possible.
